Thread: Top Five Issues with the Creature Handler Profession
a) Credit for what our pets kill (explore missions, faction points)
b) Make our pets count towards the difficulty of missions (so we are more usefull in groups to pick higher level missions and can make decent money even if we dont have a high end combat class skills - aka dabble into Pistoleer just to get something above difficulty 10 on starter planets)
c) Fix the grouping issues with pets. What do they do with all the money and locked containers? And why do they take up harvesting?
d) More pet storage... pweaase!
e) Nah, we dont need even more powerfull pets. I think we are fine the way we are in power. Just pleaes "fix" what still needs to be "fixed" (grouping, bla bla)
Here two ongoing discussions:

Master CH needs to be special and worth getting. To me, that's the big one.
Second, CH should be THE pet fighting class, not everyone fighting with something but CH gets slightly better. Non-aggro pets for non-CH is not enough . . . non-CH pets should not be able to use the attack and guard commands either. They should be pets, and later, mounts. If people want to be a non-CH and have a tank at their side, they should argue for better droids. And don't say "that kills our sales", because as soon as mounts are in we'll get them back anyways, in spades, and we know it.

The REAL BT
My #1 issue is that we're not able to sell pets to a vendor. If that was fixed, it would also deal with the pet storage issues to a large degree, because I wouldn't need any additional slots if I could sell the pets I picked up for customers to a vendor. Please fix this, it's such a hassle having to keep pets stored in my own datapad until I can meet up with my customers. Sometimes my pet slots are occupied with ordered pets for days, and once they're all full up, I can't even make any serious ch xp anymore.
#2 issue is that Master Ch is essentially useless.
#3 issue is that the pet level cap wasn't chosen wisely, in my opinion. 70 is just a number that severely limits the pet choices because there aren't enough good pets around to actually make use of that cap. There's no single CL 70 pet, and wielding 3 greater sludges just isn't worth it against tough mobs. So I'll probably end up wielding a single CL 50 pet, wasting the other 20 CLs because it's not worth pulling out an additional CL 20 pet as it'd just get eaten in tough fights.

Yes. Just like in platform RPGs, the enemies always know which is the weakest enemy and try to kill them first. Gurreck+Spineflap Queen vs anything worth throwing them both at = Spineflap Queen with lowered Vitality.
I think the major issues are agreed upon, but could you ask the devs to create some variety of stable or corral or something so we could unload pets from our datapad? I'm thinking of critters that we as CH would like to 'retire' after their vitality gets to such a low level. It seems kinda 'mean' that to clear up space we have to release so-n-so, our happy and loyal pet y'know? I mean I use a cu pa for grinding Xp but what about when he (she/it?) gets too old? Just shoot it in the head? Seems very un-CH of us.
I wanted to become Kliknik Master by taming and then selling Kliknik's of all kinds ... But I do not have enough store, I cannot put them in a vendor ...
Sure a BE must have his existence ... but the real Advantage of the CH is simply variety. No BE cancreate a nice Kliknik Queen ... or2 Defender ... That is what I like about being CH ... and I would like to provide others with my creatures ... Slant's Kliknik Farm, Zoo or whatever ...
I would like to get a PA Hall just to stuff it with various Creatures, some people have never seen before ... something like a Zoo ... but well ...
I need store ... I mean ... it could be a special PET DEPOSIT in a Bank ... where You could store pets, that do not grow, do not heal ... they could just be in carbonite/frozen and have even crappier stats for the first days before theybecome normal again ... (like Han in the 2 movies) ... It couldn't be abused then ...
MY Issues are
1.) store
2.) more store
3.)even more store
4.)even much more store
5.) master should be allowed to have as many pets as he wants out ... meaning I could have more than 3 pets out, while still under Max level restriction ... or wellat least more than 3 ...
Slant CH, Gorath
I would like to add to my list the following:
1) Missions difficulties offerred are done soley based on the player's weapon skill level. Never mind that I am grouped with 14k HAM worth of pets. Pets that are grouped with the CH should could towards mission difficulty. This is a grouping problem really, not a CH one - missions are always player-specific and don't take in to account group size and strength
My personal preference would be to change the mission selection process to let the player specify the difficulty level of mission they want to attempt, rather than try to just guess. Certain areas like Dant could still be set to a minimum difficult lvl.
2) CHs are not rewarded mission/faction credit for pet mob or NPC kills. If my pet does all the damage, I only get CH xp; no faction points are rewarded, nor does the kill count towards a number count for Explorer destroy missions.
The bottom line: our pets ARE our weapons, it's where we've spent our skill pts to be effective in battle. Please reward us as such.
Top 5:
1. Remove the ability for NON-CH pets to attack. As a master CH i dont even bother taking out my pets because mobs are swarmed with rock beetles already. Maybe this will make pro-bots viable.
2. CH should be able to see the CL of pets they can tame. I know that master scouts can see the CL of all mobs ... but CH should see tamable mobs CL
3. More tamable pets. There are few high end pets. Above CL23 there are standard pets.
4. Allow CH levels to factor in misson levels. Me and my gurreck fighting gnorts ...
5. Make food and playing increase regen rates.
I just want more babies...both the ones they have taken out and the ones that have never been put in (like bortoks!)

Oh yeah, they added that happy little message saying "You've released your pet into the wild." Happy flowers and skittles rainbows. Funny that it still says "You have DESTROYED a plains tusk cat male (baby) (data)" right underneath it. Yeah, when our pets are released into the wild it'll make us feel nice by telling us that, then make us feel like crap by telling us "You have destroyed (Fluffimumikins) (data)" just like it used to. (data) doesn't make me feel any better either. The pets are data anyway, 1s and 0s. Even though they are only data, we still get attached to them. If they really wanted happy flowers and pretty rainbows, then they'd have our pets appear, wave bye bye and scamper off into the distance. "Retiring" right now consists of us destroying an old friend, or at least feeling like we are.
Heh, I shouldn't post this in the top 5 issues because it really isn't one, but I felt the urge to rambl- err... reply ![]()
1. At master level I would like to see a Barn/fuction added to a House which could store animals that are completly trained up to the house limit of items
Yes this means only a master CH could have a additional 150 pets but they are at his home not in a data pad or accessible to him for combat.....Its his place of buisness and they are his products for sale let all these pets stored in his house also be assessable in his vendor so the customers can look around and visually see the pet or access the vendor and look at more detaled stats
2. CH should count as a combat profession when selecting missions in addition to any combat class the CH may possess
3. At master level a CH should know everything about a baby like a master scout
4. For CL 15 pets or lower a Master CHshould be able to make some kind of improvement on a baby so it is better than a non master sold pet giving him/her a advantage when it comes to selling wild pets
improvements could be
AR1 as a defensive bonus for the pet
A better to hit or bonus to damage or a special attack
25% more ham in 1 catagory
................................................................................................
The costs could be
feeding the pet 100 meathide and bone per day for 5 days if the pet is carnivore
feeding the pet 100 cerals fruit greens per day for 5 days if a herbivore
pets could require a certian quality of above items or the quality could effect the results

I want a T- REX in the Game Equal to a Rancor! and make it CL 50 so when i make master i can find and tame one!

We must have more storage capacity in some form. I cannot tame and sell pets and also keep enuf healthy pets around to fight with the cap of 16 storage slots.. If we are to be more then combat in our purpose in this game we must be given the tools to do that.If we are the sole parties to tame pets for nonCH types for instance we have to have free slots to do that. Why would i give up a slot that could be used for a fighting pet to help out a nonCh when i dont really need the money anyway?
Is the database so bad off we cant have some more pet storage?
