I'm still here... for the time being.

We need to rally. We need a leader, a voice, more than ever.
And you had better believe I'm raising holy hell... Tiggs stated we were less than 1% of the population. However, in this Astromech Stats Friday Feature from August, we're in the top 50% of all professions.
Not to mention we're listed above, for example, Commando, which is being preserved in the new system. So there are more CHs than Commandos, yet CH is being cut from the game. Hmm... something doesn't add up.
Raise your voices. Speak up. Even if you're quitting, fight for those who may still stay. Fight for your pets. Be extra-melodramatic... but say your part if you feel strongly about it.
Ah! Just when the dark night seems blackest, a leader steps up with a rallying cry.

Thank you for sharing this highly-relevant piece of information. It confirms what I'd felt was true: The Creature Handler population was just beginning to rebound after a long, bitter summer of beatdown following the Combat Upgrade launch. Based on the volume of posts in the CH Forums over the year-and-a-half I've played SWG (joined in April '04), I believe the actual latent interest in this profession would place it a solid #3 in the profession rankings, somewhere behind Jedi but close on the heels of Bounty Hunter, if it had been allowed to regain it's position over time.
People, if you harbor any love for Creature Handler as a profession, you must make your voice heard NOW. Band together. Speak up. Spread the word.
IF WE GO DOWN, WE GO DOWN. BUT LET US NOT GO DOWN IN SILENCE!
I used to be a creature handler for 1 and a half year, and i loved it! Gave it up around cu, and took up bio engineer instead abit later, and was currently loving that to bits now.
This saddens me deeply on your behalf, and i know i wont be playing this game either. I wont play the game witout being able to do BE, and quite frankly i was hoping to regrind Mch again soon too
I remember how fantastic this community was during my time as MCH, and i remember all the hard work of collecting information and the deep devotion. It is really sad to see the devs ditching something valuable and devoting like this profession.
Best luck to all, and good bye.
Been here since launch... just appalled.

Thank you so much for all you've done. We've had it easy tbh, we only had to play the game. You on the other hand have taken a voluntary position and put in an exceptional amount of effort for the good of the rest of us.
We're all gutted for sure, SOE lost 4 accounts last evening from me alone. I for one won't be going near another Sony or LucasArts product again, the only thing these guys understand is ca$h....well they're getting no more from me.
Good Luck in the future and thanks again.

Thank you for your dedication and time. I have been a MCH for almost 2yrs... I have played since July 2003. It is a very sad, sad day. Man this sucks.
Very sad news is this.
Was CH for about 16 months until CU and was looking forward to go back to my old favourite profession.
Talking about being misdirected.

Hey folks,
This complete game change blindsided me just like it blindsided you. I had no knowledge that it was coming, and I can't even believe what I've read tonight.
My friend text messaged me about a "new CU" while I was at work, then bluntly told me Creature Handler was not in the grand design at all. I left work early to see exactly what he was talking about, and I can't understand what happened at all.
To all my friends here on the Creature Handler forum, I am so incredibly sorry. This profession, and this community, is why I played Star Wars: Galaxies. You guys were/are the best of the best, the most dedicated and awesome group of gamers I've had the pleasure of meeting. Even if we are less than 1% of the playerbase (hard to believe how far we've fallen since launch, when every other person was a CH), we're still just as important (if not more so) than any Jedi or Bounty Hunter.
I will not be re-applying for CH correspondent if this new system takes effect. I doubt that matters as it seems there will be no Creature Handler profession. I have already posted my feelings to the dev team. I will likely not be renewing my subscription either, as the game I love is not the game that seems to be coming.
For those of you staying around, proudly wear your Master Creature Handler title... maybe in time, the team will come to their senses.
For any of you who would like to be in touch with me in the future, feel free to AIM me at TheDarkGodHeston, or e-mail me at [email protected]. I can't promise to respond fast, but I'll eventually get around to it.
Vertexon was the first Creature Handler Correspondent, and I was the second and presumably last. It has been my honor to serve you folks, and I'm so sad to see our profession die I can't express it. Take care of yourselves, and hope to see you in future games!
