I would like to see pets become reliable. No more warping, no more running away with full ham. I want the pet to be protective of me. It would be nice, if I were to be incapped withing 30m of my pet, that the pet would come defend me, and no DB be dealt me before my pet falls. Also, I would like to make pets be aggro'd more then me. There is no point in having a Rancor with 8k ham, if everyone is shooting at me. I would like my pets to be able to come closer to acting like they have 63 points of an elite combat profession. I should be able to choose a balance or offense/defense on the pets that I choose. Also, how about removing the data space that the pet takes up. My datapad's get full without 20 creatures adding to it.

i must admit i have no idea what to "expect" but from what hearsay i've heart the CU is gearing toward pvp...buffs will be severly nerfed-to a max of 1000 or so, and all the other combat professions will suffer nerfing...i've herad talk of timers being used on other combat profeesions thus eliminating speed slicing, and the removal of specific hambar attacks i.e. rifleman mind shots..
i think for ch, the weakening of other combat proffs, will by default icrease the usefullness of the ch combat--that is by weakening the powerful combat professions the currently "weak" ch profession will come back on par without many if any changes
that is what i "expect"

I think you of all people are most correct.Super nerfs, all around. Minimal new content, with just enough to allow for some variety within a skill tree, simply alterations of current code, with a lot of stuff removed to bringproffs more in line. Think, CH is weak now, wait till TKM does the same amount of damage, and commando barely more...

That the called pets that doesn't participate in the fight isn't calculated towards the CH XP reward.

I would like to see CH have some real fighting power. It's a 2nd level profession an take alot of skillpoints to get, almost as much as BH and Comando and TKM. But we are still (in my opinion) the lowest of the combat profession in terms of dealing out the beat downs. If you get into a fight with a Commando or BH or TKM you know you have a fight on your hands. With CH you cant even call your pets for help if you are overt and someone agros you. Not that it would matter anyway because I have seen high level pets be taken out easy as 123 by any of the 3 professions I mentioned before. With such a cool profession (CH) in the game they should make it a little more powerful then it is now, at least make it so people think twice about agroing CH's or people want us back in PvP again. Long story short give the level the power the name states (CH) means somone who can control nasty creature that others can't which means the nasty creature can surly kill you. At this point in the game at nasty creature gives scratches instead of wounds. The way things are now I would like to see one major change. If you are in a fight you can call your pets, but not store them until the fight is over.

Creatures with non-kinetic attacks.
Or heck, just remove 80% kinetic resistance armor all together from the game to make our creatures useful again.
I think the big problem is not that the CH profession sucks, it's the fact that SOE added so much crap in SWG that it ruined the CH profession.
I mean no thanks to 80% Kinetic Resistance armor combined with a doctor buff, all creatures are useless in PVP. There used to be a time in SWG (many months ago)in PVP where you could not let a pet agro you. You would be forced to kill the creature first, then go after it's master. Today, you could let 3 pet rancors on you and go kill it's master first. Then for fun kill the rancors that are not dealing any damage to you and claim yourself the winner.
So if SOE decides to keep the uber armors, then creatures need to deal any sort of other damage instead of just Kinetic. Just to deal some damage to the target.
how would this be possible? Well, it would pretty much make all existing creatures useless. So either SOE changes the damage from all creatures so that all existing creatures are not affected.
Or create bio-enhancements. Like I dunno, allow Bio-Engineers to craft stimpacks with abilities to alter a creature's kinetic damage to become Fire Damage. Or inject another stimpack to turn the creature into a Stun Damage creature. The stim's effect doesn't have to be permanent. It would have a limited ammount, like after 1000 attacks, it expires. And as a penalty, the creature would end up having a downer of some sort.

I want to see, ANY TIDBIT of information that might give me a little hope for the future of this game maybe? That is what I REALLY want. The best first person shooter in the world now had a sequal out and it is free every month with free mods out the wazoo and I am sure it will keep me buisy for the next 5-6 years as its predecessor did (game of the year, voted best game of all time ring a bell?), etc etc.
Having a hard time playing swg these days without any tidbits of information on the combat rebal. SO COME ON, release some of those holy combat documents that were promised by all the correspondents that visited this forum after you all had your conference.
Please, maybe just a little? I seriously have noticed a lot of people leaving lately, please give a little hint.
I am begging you guys to keep me in the community, the game gets boring at times until I set out on new crusades to find rare pets. That is about all I have, and I pay 15 bucks a month for it.
Thanks,
I realize that during the closed beta, noone can talk about it and that ideas are flying, but come on.

I was a MCH for about 4 months, I ended up dropping it for variuos resons. Many of which have come up here. I have just today decided to head back and try for MCH again. This is how i stumbled into the forums to see how things are going. I have seen lots of good suggestions and a few that i think are a bit to much. So here are my suggestions, overlapping or not.
-I don't see a problem with the 15 sec pet call. Maybe give insentive to keep a pet or two out. I used to keep something out.( But then again i was a MCH/Ranger with almost no combat skills)
-pets shouldn't be faster then speeders. That seems a little rediculous to me. I could see a longer burst, but then you'd have to give a longer time till the pet was rested.
-I really, really like the saddle bag idea, That would be a huge boost to the pet market. Let CHs make saddles that could hold 20-30 items. It could turn out to be almost the only income for the class because we all no CHs make none. Save the sale of super rare pets, and mounts CL 10 and below.
-Specials definatly need to be fixed. This is a must.
-Why can't CHs teach a few specials to your pets? A system for that would have to be hashed out but might be worth a shot.
- How can Rangers get more info on a creature scan then CHs? That seems a little off. MCH should have the ability to know everything about an creature.
- Creatures definaly need to be better in combat if this is to be considered a combat profession. Lots of ideas have beenlisted i'm still up in the air with what i think needs to be done.
- i don't really like the armor idea, maybe a light armor for mounts, but i can see ppl asking for medium and heavy armor and thats too much.
-I like the herd control idea. But perhaps you need a pet of the same kind to convince the herd to stamped or whatever you want them to do.
- MCH should be able to communicate with thier pets, not just a bubble above thier head when they are hungry. We have empathy skills why not bump them up a notch. Why not get a pet though every so often. Your bobcat sees some cu pa in the distance and wants to eat one, so you say "no were to busy." or "lets run down one of them furry chickens!"
-Helps solve the 'feed everything bofa treats' problem i dont like. Feed your carnivors meat. Let them eat a corpse if they want. Feed your bantha wild wheat. Lets them do a little grazing. Why cant the quality of the food you feed them determine how they grow. Better meat will make your bobcat a stronger pet. I think this is a hell of an idea.
this is all i have for now please feel free to shread me or agree. I feel very strong about the last two, and the saddle idea. Fixing pets in combat and a hard look at the specials goes without saying.

I'd like to see a bonus for CH'sthat perform combat while on a mount. The mount ought not to slow down, and the mount ought to take part of the damage delt to the rider so that the CH in effect has an additional pool of health. I don't see why being a CH should make you worse in combat and not better?

I'd like to see the combat stats for my pets with out having to call them
I'd like to see different damage types from creatures. I'm sure whatever that is that most creatures use for ranged attacks isn't kinetic. It sould be acid or flame or anything but kinetic. If creatures had different damage types then all the types of resists would matter, instead of kinetic being king.
I'd like to see powerups and weapons and armor and other equipment for creatures.
I'd like to think that using my pet is better, or even as good as, using my master riflewoman abilities.
I'd like my pets to be less stupid and do what they are told to do.
