The most common way to affect the mind in PvP using pistols is:

Using Geo Blaster

Lowblow

Eyeshot

Repeat if necessary

It's just brutal...especially when fired at the speed cap

I've just recently experienced firing my Geo using last ditch at the speed cap. Always nice when you can take a master doc out by taking out his health and action.

Over the last three days I've noticed that my mind is taking damage when I'm fighting giant canyon krayts also all my specials are eating into my mind causing a net effect that even with +200 mind food, +10%mind buff and+20% from spices that my mind pool is used up before I can get them down to even 1/4 of there health. Where as before I could solo one. This is happening with other mobs as well but as I've been farming krayts to get pearls for my jedi and I can't now its the most annoying occurance.
