I dunno,I agree it's frustrating for you who can't tame. But I'm not even using my new character that's novice CH now, not for a few days anyhow. Because I can't even level in CH.
Or I'm wrong on this one ... i mean come on.
And when i read the other problems CH has i'm beginning to wonder why continue...

Same here mate,
That cap of 20k is getting on my nerves,I can not believe it is that though a "bug" to solve.
Or I'm wrong on this one ... i mean come on.
I'm still a total noob at SWG but this is really frustrating for the people who just started to play.

Well, I ask myself the same question, Cydec. I didn't join SWG until April 2004, so I never got a taste of the days when CH was the flavor-of-the-month. My in-game experience of CH rests solely on what it was from midsummer '04 forward.
For my part, CH is/was a very fun and satisfying meta-game in its own right. I felt that no other profession engaged me in my galaxy like the search for the best pets at my level. My pursuit of this profession has propelled me deep into the details of this game. And some of my most thrilling in-game moments have come while I was standing with my scent masked in the midst of a hilltop covered with deadly creatures while I snatched that one baby standing between it's daddy's feet.... or coils, in the case of the Giant Crystal Snake baby I tamed 'lo these many months ago.
That thrill is just as sharp for me today. With the dawn of the Combat Upgrade, I have finally been able to free up the skill points I needed to master both Bounty Hunter and Creature Handler. And I tamed my first rancor over the weekend. It was an incredibly hard, grueling taming process with the baby breaking my masked scent four times after multiple taming attempts each time, but finally, after an hour of work (including killing offall three instances of the massive adult random spawn around the lair), I added Baby Nobs to my datapad! And a couple nights ago, I added a baby Gaping Spider from a lair just outside the Hidden Village, with a fellow Master Creature Handler who happened to pass by helping me with the combat.
Yep; the thrill is still there....
And now, as of last Tuesday (May 17), I am a Master Creature Handler!
(I wonder if I am the first person on Bria to actually grind his way to MCH post-CU -- I couldn't respec to MCH because I had so many skill points tied up in the Novice-level Marksman skills that were a prerequisite for Bounty Hunter.)
I grieve for all the players like you who are stuck at Novice Creature Handler. I also grieve for the rest of us who have to wait for the core functional elements of our profession to be rebuilt. Perhaps an encouraging word will help you keep the faith: Hang in there. Drop Novice CH for now if you must, but keep tabs on developments. And when the XP issue is fixed (and it's apparently a problem shared by several other professions, so it hasto be a Hotfix candidate), I and others on your own server will be there to lend our assistance when and where we can. One word of advice: When you can advance again, be sure to get into a good leveling-up group and have a pet jump into the fray. The pet won't even need to be grouped. Just target one opponent at a time, and order the pet to attack until the opponent dies. Then tab to the next, and repeat. At low levels, the creaures will probably ignore your pet, and you will garner CH Xp hand over fist.
And once the devs repair our ability to see creature resistances and teach commands for special attacks again, it will once again become the fascinating meta-game I and others enjoy.
#1 : Pets are way too weak compared to creatures of the same CL in the wild. The new CL65 Varactyl for example, has 6.5k health. Where something like a walluga or whatever its called on Kashyyk, is CL53 and has well over 6k health. So basiclly the pets are only about half of the level that they say they are. Before we could have a CL70 creature with 10k health, i dont see any pet capable of getting close to this.
#2 : Pet conversion is severely gimped.A bantha with 9k health coverted to CL220. Come on!?!?!
Ok, I can't pull out like 3 babies that are infact still babies because it's caculating the total difficulty levels as being their adult difficulty levels.
So say I'm Max Pet Level 35. I can't pull3 babies that are difficulty lvl 2(20), because it's saying they are 20 each, not 2 each.
Same issue with trading pets, I can't trade babies that are like level 2, because their adult lvl will be too high for a non-CH.
Not sure why I'm bothering anymore.. CH is so pathetic now.
Got a mission, lvl 50, grouped with pets and went to mission. Mission spawned at lvl 22 (lvl of my pets). This also happens with low level players grouping with a higher level player, it seems to spawn to the lowest lvl member in the group.
I have two issues that I think belong on the Top 5 List, especially now that the #1 seems to have been addressed....
- Pet Calling Changes - Remove the Pet Call Timer, when in the wild, for Novice Creature Handlers. This would allow Novice Creature Handlers, and above, the ability to call upon a pet at any point, while not in combat, without a delay in action. This allows the Novice Creature Handler more flexiblity in action. At Master Creature Handler, remove the restriction of calling a pet while in combat, and replace it with a 15 second call timer. By exchanging the restriction of pet calling, while in combat, with a 15 second timer, Master Creature Handlers will be given some freedom, such as those give to other combat professions - in the form of the ability to weapons while in combat. Keep the store timer the same as it is currently, to remove the an issue with 'pet refreshing', since this wouldn't allow a MCH to call a new pet into battle, after the other pet is reduced to 0 Health. This change would not apply to Faction Perks, since it could allow a significant balance shift, if the MCH is involved in PvP Faction combat.
- Increased Movement Speeds - The movement speeds on certain pets, such as fliers, cats, and mounts, should be increased. This increase should also be applied to certain droid types, such as the Probot and DZ70. By increasing the travel speed on these pets, they will become of increased benefit to not only CHs, but non-CHs as well. The movement speeds should be increased to, but not exceed, that of the Flash Speeder, especially in the case of certain mount and flier type pets/droids.
So here is a new Issue 1 - Pet specific buff food does not APPEAR to work. Checking a pet after any other buff action shows a HAM increase. Any pet specific buff food (when drag and drop fed) does NOT show up - although the pet does say 'yummy'
