Thread: Fleet Footed does *NOT* work on mounts.
Ko-alri, could you please ask the devs whether or not it's working as intended. And, no matter what the answer is, when they are going to change it.
Tiggs doesn't answer to my question in the Publish 23 discussion thread ![]()
Here's the followup to Hordakka's tests.
I measured the flatland speeds of myself, a varactyl and a flash speeder. Nearly every activity has slowed down by only a couple of percent. Below, are listed the speeds, along with the change since my last measurement.
Flashspeeder
High Gear = 881 (-2.4%)
Low Gear = 430 (-2.3%)
Varactyl
Gallop = 654 (-3.7%)
Run = 490 (-2.2%)
Walk = 310 (-2.2%)
Person
Burstrun = 556 (-1.6%)
Run = 300 (-5.7%)
Walk = 91 (no change)
I also measured the swimming speed of the varactyl. It's the same as the running speed. Also note, that the bolotaur speeds are the same as the varactyl speeds.
Even though I can't say when the speed changes happened, nearly all activities are slower, by a few percent. If you think that things feel even slower, keep in mind that there are ways for a designer to make the activity feel slower or faster without actually changing the speeds. Reliable measurements are always the best way to determine what has happened.
The research will continue.

Ok, FF should make mounts faster upto the speed of a stand speederbike not swoop speed, seems fair to me, after all FF is suppose to make pets faster and to me this includes when mounted.
I was thinking more along the lines of the X-34. This makes mounts a viable "backup" in case your speeder gets blown and not simply a replacement for your speeder.Message Edited by Joker9125 on 08-31-2005 09:33 AM
As most people tend to wizz around on swoops anyway, i don't feel that a mount running around at speed comparable to that of a speederbike, in this game system anyway, would be a bad thing. I think it'd be great. So how about this then:
FF1 - a noticeable, if marginal speed increase, not upto vehicle speed.
FF2 - Increases close to X34 speed,
FF3 - Goes beyong X34 speed, close to that of a Speederbike.
QFE - as i can't be bothered to retype it, FF should increase mounted speed, as it stands it doesn't and its therefore utterly pointless. This needs to be changed.
