All of the suggestions I've read on this thread are great, and I too dislike the 'Blue Frog'. People shouldn't be allowed to just waltz right up a different profession tree after falling out of the one they're currently on due to lack of interest or such. I mean jeez, most everyone gets a few scrapes here and there if not a break to a limb after falling out of a tree. >_>
I'd like to see the more rare tamables live up to their wild counterparts. I probably won't use my malignant squill in any battle after I try her out once she's all grown up. A tame malignant squill should be just as capable as ripping somebody to shreds faster than one can bat an eyelash as easily as a wild malignant can (I was on the receiving end of this early this morning and it was NOT fun). A tame mantigrue screecher's plague strike should be as potent as that of his wild counterpart's and so on. Tame pets should be feared as much as their wild counterparts are! I mean a tame rancor shouldn't be as weak as a kitten. That's just not Star Wars .
Voices. Running around in the wild minus the cries of banthas, dewbacks, and the other denizens of the wild i just too plain and boring. I used to enjoy running around Tatooine and Endor while hunting so I could hear the music of nature's children. I pray the silent creature issue gets fixed as soon as possible. I went out of my way to aquire a gaping spider hunter and a recluse because not only do they look cool, but because they had a really awesome battle cry that reminded me of birds of prey, and I normally do not like spiders. On Endor, I would always listen to the cries of mereks in the background while getting missions and the flapping of a mantigrue's wings while running about observing the wildlife and looking for exotic pets to take screenshots of. Nature should not be silenced like this. I miss the howl of the mantigrue and I pray that it and the other voices of nature's children will not be silenced forever.
Thank you.

Just a word of caution - remember, the purpose of the sand box is to test combat balance, er I mean upgrade. Let's not start thinking of it as a Christmas wish list. Don't forget the "summit", the sole purposeof which wasto get in-put from our correspondents as to what the SWG community wanted to see in the upgrade - and to wear hawtpants apparently
And the devs then continued to get in-put from us. By this time, the devs have to know what ourconcerns are. So I'm thinking they already have a pretty good idea of what they want to implement. Or we wouldn't be getting ready to test it.
I'm sure there will be more than just 5 from CH testing the upgrade. Just because it's a closed beta doesn't mean that there won't be lots of people in it. My expectation is that those of us in sandbox will have a great deal ofin-put/influence as to what does and does not work or else what's the purpose of testing, right? I saw from JTL beta just how much influence we as players can have in effecting changes. (And who knows what things were changed during the closed beta portion?). Still, what the devs want to do, their vision, the foundation if you will, is probably already in place. I'm expecting nothing but great things for CH (and the game in general) from this upgrade. But it's not a Chrismas wish list.

Dabudo,
I realize your wish list concerns. That all is in line with what I have asked for.
Pet Specials as CH only specials and specifically non-trainable as a pet should not just be given the commands as it takes away from actually earning the right to use them. Following that up with pet specials need to work.
Lastly, no blue frogs. I earned MCH as did everyone else who has the title. I do not want to see TKM's suddenly powerless and flooding in as MCH.
Granted the argument has been made that there are other professions but unless CH is given a hand held control device and Attack commands Queued CH will be the FOTM again once this is all sed and done.
If we are given a pet control device then our damge must be evened out to reflect everything with less skill points to aquire. Our heaviest hitting creatures should do the max damage somewhere between the professions that take 92 points and the BH's and Commandos since we use 106.
If those all get addressed I will be happy with the out come.

I definately want the specials looked at. They are important for complimenting other combat skills. If I got a knockdown pet I want it to work in concert with my spray shot. Strong disease strong poison need to work.
I would like to see more varied tameables. I am not a master and do not plan to be, but I would like some more pets that hit the odd creature levels.
I would like to see BE balance in place no reason for kaddus and durnis to be super strong like rancor strength. I think a be creature should be plus or minus five of the natural counterpart. This works in two ways so in all fairness a non ch can get an idea of what strength the pet is, but also bring back a bit of majesty to the profession. This will also put some much needed pet variety into the profession.
Better resist variation I would like to see some pets with high kinetic resists or higher resists in other areas. This would be good for wild tames. Where a ch can specifically go out and find pets very specific to a need.
I would like to see and this is an odd one a way for mounts to compete with player vehicles. Perhaps letting ranged fighters use special moves while mounted, or make the vehicles more resource intensive to maintain since the economy is inflated and vehicle costs are so low.
Let non ch pets go up a couple notches. Level 12 or 13 so we can provide a service to players again. Hopefully with the revamp this could be worked back in. Level tens are completely pathetic tanks. Level 12 or 13 could be of some use to people that like to solo. But to be fair make it so that the only chs can use pet vitality packs so that these have to be replaced like any weapon.
Most of all I would love to see more creature designs in the game. Alot of what we see are rehash from planet to planet. Giant beetles giant spiders Giant giraffes giant hippos giant bats giant birds. We got alot of rehashes. I would like to see an intent by the devs as they bring in new dungeons and so forth to bring in new creature designs that will be tameable by chs of all levels.

I agree on these points. The DOT specials are an absolute joke. A novice brawler can use a looted axe that does better DOT's than my high-powered uberBE spider. And his actually stick on when used. That isnt cool. DOT's dont need to be Combat Medic grade, but they need to be worthwhile and competitive with weapon DOT's. Make ultra-rare Exceptional and Legendary pets (of all Cl's)and give them these insane DOTs, Damage, or skill mods as seen on traditional weapons. At least gives us incentive to do an /examine on that baby durni next time.
I would also like to see pets get brawler-like specials like /bodyhit, /headhit, /leghit,or an"overcharge" or "ramming strike" that has a high HAM cost and is very slow. Or a master level 'jugular strike' not unlike unlike /unarmedhit3 or /headshot3. Either based on pet type or as CH tree skills.
This could still lead to stacking using 2 weapons, a pet and hand held. If Creatures can be made competitive with traditional weapons, I'm all for CH being limited in using second combat professions. Still allows MCH's to be crafters, entertainers or docs on the side. Plenty of Swordsmen are also Fencers, but they can't use both weapons at once. While a creature is called, make it so specials cannot be used with equipped weapons. Something along these lines should allow us plenty of punch without being overpowered. Seems like a fair trade off. OR allow weapon specials, but the creature cannot use offensive specials like Bleeds or DOT's, and the player takes severe passive defense reductions. Stun, blind, dizzy and intimidate can still be used. Allows for tanking creatures to be effective while the player remains the damage-dealer, and requires the two to work together effectively to keep the other alive.
Just some thoughts.

Ok here is the nicer version of what I want to say.
Everyone here is giving their ideas based on the current combat system and what they know of the upcomming new one (NOTHING!!!!!!!!). How can we give accurate andconstructive ideas without knowing how the new system will work? If the CB does fail IMHO this will be the reason it does. Asking the community as a whole forinput/feedbackon the CBas a whole without giving us the information we need to do so is pointless. They state the whole community will be involved but turn right around and shut 99.99% of the people out.
EDIT: Ok so maybe I hadnt calmed down enough

Wow, my first post on these forums. Well, I've been playing since June and have taken to CH within the last month or so. I really like it too. The professions that I wanted to do ended up not being fun and a profession I dodn't think about is fun. Hardest parts of CH are naming them and releasing them after watching them grow up. *sniff sniff*
What I'd like to see (thou may not be directly related to the combat revamp):
-I want my growls, chirps, barks, etc back
-I'd like to see pets be able to regenerate HAM while called. Stimpacks and pet stimpaks are expensive. And it's not real easy to find BioEngineer's who make alot of pet stims.
-Armor for my pet (has been said many times already)
-Packs for the mounts (maybe make them hold 20 items each or something)
-Make the 'cuter' wild animals under CL10 (a few times in the past week, I've had entertainers ask me to train a pet they bought off the bazaar, only to find the pet they bought because it was cute is actually a CL16 or something. Then when trying to find something similar in the wild, I ran into alot of CL12's and higher. Perhaps this can give CH's a chance as a marketable profession if the 'cuter' wild animals were under or available under CL10.)
-The ability to make my pet aggresive against a mob in general (or maybe there is and I just dont know. But instead of having to command my pets to attack each mob, I can give the command to attack one, then once that mob is dead, my pet automatically moves to the next one.)
-Maybe have it automatically set that once I get aggro'd by a mob, my pet starts to attack whatever aggro'd me. Or have it set to whatever damages me instead of what aggro'd me.
-Maybe even some way to sell our creatures on the bazaar?

many people who have posted here know its a combat upgrade not a wish list, there is nothing wrong with asking the sandbox people to be aware of something while they are in there. If a dev askes for an opinion on something they can and im sure will give them an honest response with the communities wishesin mind.
I realise the not knowing aspect will be hard on some of us but its better to not know whats going on and have work being done that may enhance our gameplay than to know nothing is being done and be ignored.
Why you are so angry is beyond me. this is all good stuff it may be 6 months untill we see something. something is better than nothing lol chill out dude. no more coffeee for you lol
keep in mind a sandbox person started this thread he is fully aware what hiis duties are but wants to make sure he can represent the whole community.

Wouldnt we all but lets keep new content wshlists out of this discussion. The Combat Revamp/Balance/Upgrade/Motherofallnerfs ect..... isnt about new content. This thread is about what you would like to see in the new upgrade for making this profession more in line with all the other professions when the CB comes out.

Hopefully the combat revamp will let CH be able to have their pets be a fearsome thing to encounter, instead of just a secondary thought as a buffed TKM knocks it into unconsious mode. Pets need to be viable for combat and be able to be changed with no timers just like any other combat class can change its weapons at a drop of the hat. Calling pets on a timer is ridiculous as well, same reason. Pets need to be able to be changed While In Combat!!!

Yeah, DaBudo and the others are right. This is the Combat Upgrade, not the CH profession revamp. Ideas and suggestions are great and could be potentially valuable, so long as you keep realistic expectations about what'swrong with combat in theold system (not necessarily in the new system)and what's more of a feature request.
