I dunno if i'm the only one around with this opinion.. but i agree with the CSR. When i am at a starport i dont want to see your giant pet mingling with everybody, its just another useless model to waste framerate and take up screen space. There is absolutly no reason to have your pet out other than to show it off like an idiot or annoy people with it... and as for the weapon argument, give me a break. Lightsaber's and laser rifles arent 3 stories tall. They also dont take up more processing power with useless animations, and they dont get left in the starport when you take your shuttle.
I AM a creature handler but i have enough respect not to be a jerk and aimlesly pull out my fambaa and torton in a busy starport. Maybe in a less crowded starport where someone asks to see some of my pets i'll go to the edge and show them, but i dont have them out just waiting for the shuttle, that's just plain rude.
ok you can play around with durnies or chubbas, those little creatures but not big ones (i did not see the screenshot, if it is a fully grown torton, I think the CSR reaction is ok)

It's already been stated and it's true, that a pet takes up less processing power than a norman PC character, so basiclly what it boils down to is that people jsut want to complain cause they thing it's an inconvinance, if it ain't blocking the ticket droid, why worry, no need to be whining.

I mean for me the Cantinas are very lag inducing. By your reasoning, I should complain about every Master Dancer who flourishes.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the torton shakes the screen when it walks, and some people have a bad reaction with this happens (i.e. motion sickness or some other ill effect).
This has been discussed in excrutiating detail and the resolution was that the Developers would add a toggle for the "screen shaking" visual effect.
When or if they will ever do as they said they would is not the Creature Handlers' problem.

I keep pets around almost always, cause when some dillweed starts talking smack and wants to duel, they never realize that creature with strong poison over there belongs to me.

If you play on a system with 512 M RAM and a not very good Vid card then you would all understand. Everything at a SP needs to be loaded, the more players and bikes and pets there means more slowdown. So parking your pet in a very populated area is guaranteed to be a pain for players on a system like mine. It is just a game performance issue, nothing personal. Once had three minute chat lag in Coronet when I was foolish enough to shuttle there in prime time - too much going on there - had to go autofollow on another player and be dragged from the place.
Oh yeah, I always avoid Commandos.
I wish they would make an option for screen shaking from pets and explosions, I would uncheck that box ASAP. Shaking gets old after a while.

When i am at a starport i dont want to see your giant pet mingling with everybody, its just another useless model to waste framerate (Wait a minute, because your system is lacking in specs to properly support the game, other people need to change their gameplay to accomodate you?) and take up screen space. There is absolutly no reason to have your pet out other than to show it off like an idiot or annoy people with it...(So an overt member of a faction who has his pet out for protection while he's waiting for the shuttle is just an idiot showing off to annoy people? The BH/CH who has his pet out while waiting for his mark is just an idiot showing off to annoy people? The CH whose guild is at war with another guild is justan idiot showing off to annoy people?)and as for the weapon argument, give me a break. Lightsaber's and laser rifles arent 3 stories tall. (Regardless of what size it is, it IS still a weapon, and an unprepared warrior is a dead warrior)They also dont take up more processing power with useless animations (See my first comment), and they dont get left in the starport when you take your shuttle.

Maybe in a less crowded starport where someone asks to see some of my pets i'll go to the edge and show them, but i dont have them out just waiting for the shuttle, that's just plain rude.
