Go to the lost city of Durbin. There is an a$$ load of them there. Its a POI on a planet that I can't remember right now...

Nah man, its kool, do not use the waypoint. Simply go to the POI called "LOST CITY OF DURBIN" youll fine a whole lotta more than 20 panthers there.This waypoint is on talus of course. GL to ya

If the POI is empty, another good spot is about 2500m se of Dearic on Talus. There is a small swamp area with tons of panthers running around. It might take a few for them to spawn, but they will. It's almost heaven for a padawan.
If you open your overhead map, you will see a green marsh area se of dearic, n, ne of the Siff base.

For the trials....Are they random spawn or mission term activated?

I do believe they are random spawns.
If you find a spawn of a couple, stick around. More will likely spawn in the same place for a little while.

they are random spawns (dead logs). your best bet is to go to the poi lost village of durbin. this
is known as panther city, they spawn there all the time.

The sticky guide "Non FS to Padawan" has all the trials along with specific wps for the sludge panthers just outside Daeric. I used them and finished the quest in a couple of hours when I did it.

There is a village on Talus thats a wp... can't remeber what its called but its on the right side of the map about 1/2 up... this place was full of low level sludge panthers. Plenty to complete this quest in the trial.

Not sure if this still works now with the CU, but if you find a wild spawn, kill the ones that did spawn. Jump on your bike and head out about 250-300m. Turn around and come back to the same spot and they should have respawned. I found mine outside right dearic, did this and was done in no time.

There are so many panthers at that lost village it took me less than 5 min to do this trial. When I had my last jedi trials,it took me hours to find like 5 lol

Go to the poi on talus marked lost city of durbin constant pantha respawn there
