one question though....do you wipe out all the rancors before tapping the lairs?

(i have seen great cannibilistic battles take place when tapping crowded rancor lairs)

I asked people on my server if they ever saw one, via a thread on my server forum.

A few weeks later I got a tell from someone saying that he was looking right at one. He was a former MCH and waited for me to get from Anchorhead to Dath. I think I was close to a record for jumping from there to the Science Outpost with no advance reservations.

Thanks again Paccy.

Edit: Don't know if Paccy knew my name from that thread or from seeing me on here, but he remembered me

Ok sorry for asking this question..

I have been trying to find a Bull Rancor, I know, I know... I remember seeing posted here that they are easy to find, well easyer than pre-CU.

So off I went for a few days all over Dath and not finding one, last night I ran something like 20 Bull Rancor missions and the only 2 Rancor Youth babys spawned.

So are these wild lairs only ?

Thanks, sorry search has been not working for awhile

I've been trying also, both mission lairs and wild. I've probably done around 20-30 lairs, and so far I've seen some rancor youth babies and a regular rancor baby, but no bulls. I've also posted some questions in the applicable threads here, and I've not had any solid answers.

Maybe we're just really unlucky...

As far as I know, the Bull Rancor is pretty much the only rare that hasn't had a massivelyincreased chance to spawn babies. 20-30 lairs doesn't mean a whole lot if the baby spawn rate is 1/1000 as it used to be. Just keep looking and be glad if you find one at your 80th lair considering people have gone through 500 before finding a baby before.

Many times in life, you ask yourself what it is you really want. Of all the mature answers I could've given, I said: "I'll take 3 Rancors, 2 Greater Sludge Panthers, 1 Great Plains Stalker, and a Pharple in a pear tree."

I wasn't really trying to say that 20-30 lairs is a lot, I really just want to have a quantified definition for bulls specifically beyond the comments that rares are now "much easier" to find. I'd like to have a bull, but I didn't want to grind out the 500 lairs as was a pretty common rough average for dedicated bull-seekers pre-CU, and I still don't want to post-CU, heh heh.

Basically, I wouldn't really mind if they were still rare, and in some ways that would only be fair for those that put forth the effort to get one pre-CU. But, if I was to hear results that other folks had found one without a mind-numbing rediculously long search, then I'd give it a go.
