I think its pretty random, I caught a Rancor 3 days ago, today, he is level 45. I caught another rancor exactly 2 days ago, today that rancor is level 50. The first rancor I brought out of the datapad exactly 4 times, the 2nd one I caught 2 days ago I never brought out until it was level 50.

Will creatures grow while stored in Datapad or do you have to use them.
This is a BE'd pet if that makes a difference.

thanks for the info...got a new dewback and Im looking forward to dressing in ST Armor and patrolling the streets

You can speed up the process of growth by taking the pet out of the data pad. It is un proven as to whether playing with them or using them increases the growth rate but I usually just take out each pet when I log in and have it do a trick or two and then store it. I have seen 3-5 day growth patterns with this method. I think some of it is just random to the pet but seems like there is a check made every 8-12 hours. Hope that helps.
