But he wasn't asked to step down at all in a way that made him consider doing it based on some people's feedback...he probably is right about how he doesn't have enough time for our rapidly growing profession though :/.

I was not asked to step down. This is a decision I reached entirely on my own based largely on the dramatically increased post volume from all the recent game changes.
