Thread: Jedi Nerf

The current number of deaths Jedi, or any character created in the FS slot gets in fact, is 3 or however the devs define "a couple, a few".

The devs have stated openly that Jedi are designed to be the begin-all end-all power class, this was intentional because the way to FS is hidden, and because once you unlock a FS slot advancing as a Jedi is even more difficult. The devs have said that they gave Jedi extreme power in line with the difficulty in getting to play as one.

The devs have said Jedi KNIGHTS/MASTERS not noviceswill be able to take on a large group/full group of normal players, I don't know if they specified Elites or not because I can't find the quote.

and abababa, Jedi WILL have to sneak around, because if they use their force powers in sight of another player they become attackable for a limited time by ANYONE. Also, the more they use their powers, the better chance of them being hunted and attacked by an unbelievably strong NPC such as Vader/Mara Jade.

Jango was a bad ass, I'll give you that. But Boba was pretty pathetic. What did he really do? Think about it.. In order for him to get Han Solo he had to get Vader and the imperials to help. And then he kind of buzzed around like an idiot for awhile until he fell screaming like a girl into the sarlacc pit.

The only reason people like him so much is cause of his bitchin armor, which was of course quickly shown up when you see the shiny blue hued suit his father wore.

As for nerfing in general.. Don't roll with the punches. Don't go with the flow. Speak your mind if your class got nerfed, otherwise they are going to just start nerfing everything until we're all running around for 3 hours finding a group of 4 people to hunt with. /cough ac2

I hate Jedi, its rediculous to put an overpowered class in the game. They shouldhave to creep around, and they sure as hell shouldn't be able to take out more than 3 people at once.

After watching all the furor over CH nerfs I have to wonder:

Is Jedi unbalanced just like other professions? How soon will we see the first Jedi nerf?

I suspect that it will happen as early as the first update after the slot gets opened. There are melee changes coming to enhance their tanking ability, but there is no one either live or on TC who has access to test them.

Does anyone else have any guesses?

No, there will be no Jedi going OVERT (using force power in public) for at least about 2 month, considering how weak they are at first.

So the true power of the Jedi won't be known till then. But again, remember, the Dev's said 'don't be surprised if you see a jedi kill 20 guys and walk away unscratched'. So they already purposely made it uber strong so everyone aims for it.

They nerf professions that they *think* are unbalancing the game. The Jedi won't unbalance the game since there will be so few even if they do find some sort of loophole or exploit. besides...after all the work they put in..it's hard to call somebody justifyably an exploiter.

Remember, even if it's strong, it's PERMA-DEATH! They get killed 3 times, and they're out! So even if it takes 30 guys to kill the Jedi, just takes 3 times for them to be permanently gone...no need to Nerf something that's on Perma-Death. Perma-Death is their solution to nerfing/power balancing.

Categorically saying that there will be no nerf is not necessarily valid. We don't know what powers a new FS or Jedi will have. We do know however that balance is an issue across the professions. There is no guarantee that Jedi will be exempt from the same problems.

It doesn't matter how strong they are. The point is that if they die just 3 times, it's all gone!

The FSCS is still there. There's nothing stopping them from making the climb again.

No one is immune from the nerf bat

it takes 2 month for a power gamer to get to Padawan. If they keep doing it, power to them. Jedi are incredibly weak to begin with, and don't reach their true potentian until master. If they die at Master Level, they'll stop playing the game.
