Thread: Putting worlds most useful macro to good use

Nevermind....did a little searching and found that for a command to work with /tellpet it should be at least 3 characters long. Macro is now working beautifully....my cherry has been popped!

I could use a little help with this macro. I've been on server since day 3 and never used a macro....I think I'm waaay overdue!! Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

I'm assuming that the macro name is pet, and when I create the macro I type it exactly as Mirth did, as macro's are case sensitive? I also assumed that the line "/tellpet attack;" should be whatever the attack command is that I use with my pets. In my case, I use "a" as the attack command. So, I should enter /tellpet a;

I created the macro and pulled one of my pets. I went outside of keren and started the macro. It cycled all the targets, but my pet didn't move. I changed the original macro and changed "attack" in line 2 to "a". I started the macro again, and same thing. I tried using the macro grouped and ungrouped...and still nothing.

Anyone have any suggestions or macro wisdom they'd share with me?

Ok, trying to help the 2 guys above.

Tastok:

If tellpet a wont work, you can always replace it with

/say a ( or whatever your attack command is ) . this always works but does annoy players close by if you say "a" every 6 seconds.hehe Works great out in the bush tho.

NeeAnderTall:

Dont keep re-editing macros unnessessarily.

To stop any macro, just type /dump

Oh, and in case anyone's interested, it finally gave me the L2 ability at about 2500 kills. Ouch!

This macro is a newbie magnet. It seems that no matter what city I go to on Tatooine, Naboo or Corellia some newbie will be attracted to the Xs on the screen and vainly attempt to take some of the fast and constant spawns.

It sure does attract them. I was running it with a freshly tamed baby...forget which it was...but it was really small. A noob came up and just stood there watching....finally he asked me how I was killing all these creatures. I had to laugh...the pet was so small he couldn't see it, and the nuna's were just dropping like flies at his feet!! I was gonna tell him it was a jedi mind special, but just couldn't do it.

I have met a lot of interesting people since I started using it.

I am curious to know how and what methods are being used to obtain the Level 1 toon to group the pet with.

So far my methods have been:

1. You got to know somebody who has an alternate character. (only worked once, and we managed him to group 3 pets at one time) Picture a Level 1 toon, grouped with 7 highlevel pets, attempting a duel! Master CH's standing by in the background feigning a lack of interest.

2. Cantinas filled with grinding AFK dancers. (Problematic since they will group with higher level players themselves).

3. The occaisional AFK Artisan Barker. Train pet togroup off of a one word command the AFK'er is using in their repeating macro. Finding an AFK'er speaking a one word sentence is a hard order to fill.

4. Trying to befriend a new player. My least favorite since new players have a mind of their own, can't play to long in one spot. Tipping for their services has been my ice breaker.

5. Anyone got a better idea?
