It is indeed a nerf. The logic being that the Empire/Alliance does not grant you use of their troops to help you kill Krayts or other non-factional enemies/creatures.

I'm not a Squad Leader, but I have one in my team.....and this makes me angry. Here's the way it should be: Squad Leaders can control 2 faction pets FOR EVERY BOX THEY FILL IN, AND AT MASTER, THEY GET TO CONTROL ANOTHER 10 AT MASTER. Squad Leaders should be able to roll through town with a full squad even if none of them are human players.


These are the new rules as defined by me, so the devs had better get right to work in implementing this new rule.

Do faction "pets", such as Stormtroopers and AT-STs from Imperial Recruiters count as Pets; and if so, can a creature handler have more than one out at a time? It would be pretty cool to see an Imp with a bunch of Stormtroops following him/her, and they could be helpful in a fight.

I believe a ch can have 3 faction pets out at the same time but im not sure

As far as I know, no one can ever have more than 1 faction pet at once, even a master CH. You can, however, as a master CH, have 3 pets, 1 droid, and 1 faction pet.

but faction pets only attack opposing factional things (only NPCs?)


so they're not disobeying your order to slaughter that kreetle, they just dont do that

Back at launch everyone could have 3 faction pets out at the same time and faction pets could also attack neutral AI (Meaning creatures like dewbacks). This was back when it took a group of 10 people to take out 1 AT-ST so you can imagine how quickly everyone went imperial and got there own AT-STs then ran around killing other players. Then people quickly hit the krayt graveyard and began using the AT-ST to kill krayts which combined with the thena godly MCH skills that allowed you to have out 3 rancors (each as strong as an AT-ST) in addition to the 3 AT-ST's made for an invincible character. So you can imagine that the devs felt the need toput a stop to this (and went to far as we all know) leading to several nerfs (most notibly the great nerf of03). One of which limited everyone to 1 faction pet at a time reguardless of skills and also made it so faction pets could only attack oppisite faction AI.


Ohh and just so ya know,droids are not affected by MCH skills either. Sorry its impossible to be luke with 3CPO and R2 following you around.

Ok - thanks for the answers everybody. I think it's stupid that they nerfed faction pets, but that's life I suppose. It's not like Stormtroopers are strong anyway, so you should definitely be able to have three of them out. Hopefully they will get un-nerfed in the future.
