Bull rancors are CL65 and thus require you to be a Master Creature Handler.
And as I tell all new CHs, read the stickies.

because it is a ferocious creature, you need the first tree in CH to be able to tame it. but you also have to be able to pull a level 65 creature before it will let you tame it. you have two requirements here, and only meet one of them. even if it wasnt a ferocious creature, you would still have to be high enough level CH to tame it.
open your skills window, and in the middle box left hand column will be a stat called Max Level of Pets. this is how high of level creature you can tame.

Okay but I already read that. No where does it say that you have to be a MCH to tame a Rancor. It says that in order to tame aggressive pets you need all 4 boxes of the first boxes in the profession which I have. So what am I missing? What is the max level I can tame with the skills and CL I have?!?
It says that if the creatures CL exceeds your max CL level (and even tells you how to check this) you will not be able to tame it. with 4/1/1/4 CH you can call up to CL 40in creatures (I think but I did just get up from a nap so I could be wrong)and since bull rancors are CL65, then it will be quite impossible to tame it.

I'm thinking of making a second character on another server and am thinking going CH.
my question is what is a good combat profession to support CH. won't master it as i am also going to go master doc or combat medic.
thanks for the help

Im currently MCH / MCM / Nov Pistoleer and this works pretty well, great for keeping pets healed while tanking and with foods and a good pistoli can deal a decent amountof damage.

Currently I'm Master Bounty Hunter and Master CH with 4 0 0 0 in combat medic. It works well because I can deal out a lot of damage while my pet tanks and deals damage of its own, and I can heal us both with area stims.
