Here is a twist on this nice idea. How about killing sevral birds with one stone and implementing the idea in such a way that it covers several proffessions at once. By this I mean:
1) Create 3 new structures CRAFTABLE BY ARCHITECTS ONLY!!!
a) Creature Pen: Holds a maximum of CL 200 creatures. This will be purchased from an Architect and the creatures will beinput from the D-pad or from Inventory (BE creatures) and simply "held" there for display and additional Creature storage.
b) Craftable Farm: Made, again, by ARCHITECT with components gathered by RANGERS and SCOUTS (hides, wood, special loot only findable if you are a scout or ranger). This would be a production line where you could design several subsets of specific farm and tell it to either produce milk, meat, hide, or bone. The animals would be input by the owner but the changes to the production cycle should be made by a scout or ranger (so they can charge a nominal fee for their services). The output would consist of factory type crates of organic resources with quality depending on what the owner puts in the farm. Ie: if the owner places several different kinds of animals in there for meat then the output will be an average of quality from the resources gathered. Obviouusly, if the animals are intended for milking they will last longer (slower decay) than if the animals are intended for food prduction such as meat or hide (here they would constantly have to be replaced as they are bing slaughtered).
c) Craftable Ranch: Made by ARCHITECTET and managed by the owner. Product here is a Bioengineered like pet with drawbacks to the actual bioengineering. Input of initial instructions MUST be made by a BIOENGINEER. In other words, you buy a crafted ranch, you place it, then you hire a Bioengineer to input data or instructions for production. Ie: he/she accesses the managment terminal and uses their unique skill to tell the ranch to produce a batch of faster Kaddus. The owner must then go out and find a group of female and male Kaddus and input them in the ranch and feed them regularly. As they grow up they will begin to breed and have babies wich will reflect the instructions put in the ranch by the BE. Generational litters can then be used to produce better and better animals.
This way of implementing this new feature would be VERY complex but on the flipside it would add a much needed refreshing dimentions to the CH profession. This dimension would allow for CH's to be something other than a Pure fightiing profession and at the same time provide a nice "bonding" and business relationship for several professions that also need variety in their purposefullness.
Just imagine your nice Large tatooinian House with a nice fence around it and a bunch of Kaddus or Humbabas running around in it. Imagine the sign reading "Double K Milk Farm" or just simply having a nice corral of pets to show off to all that drive by. The possibilities here are pretty obvious and this way you would not step on any toes and you would be creating an additional industry where several classes could come together and work for a common goal...
...imagine the Bioengineer negotiating the "pick of the Litter" for a new line of super fast Kaddus or being able to have that "ranch grown rancor" with mind desease from one generation and higher damage from another generation. Obviously the Benefit to the Pure Bioengineer, scout and Ranger, is that they can still create the same results by hunting, bioengineering, milking, harvesting, etc. The benefit of this feature would be that The stuff that comes out of the farm, ranch, etc will be much better but take a longer time to produce.
Armorsmiths could set up accounts with a farmer to get constantly nice hides for their armor, doctors could make a deal with a bird farmer for that nice avian meat, and bioengineers could have access to the new generations of pets to sample DNA in a "safe: environment where the tamed creatures would not aggro as much. The montary potential here is endless for several classes and the creation of a new sourece of economical boost are pretty obvious.
The implementation time of such an idea, however, seems pretty complicated so...not expecting to see something like this in a loong time...one could only hope!
