Thread: DO NOT DELETE YOUR PETS

I will never delete my pets - my alt is still holding most of my pre-cu ones.

But I wont be here playing swg. SOE get no more of my money because after 2 years and a beta, I have at long last been cured of my addiction to this game. No - that isn't true. I am STILL addicted to the SWG which gave so much diversity, ability to be anything I wanted to be and developed such an incredible creature handler system, that it will go down in history as being unique. No other game offers me the depth that this one did.

The game was always broken, it always will be - and no cheap-make-it-simple-for-the-console-kiddies style of game play is going to improve it much. I am much afraid that we will never see CH back again, as the coding and programming required for a complex system such as we have at the moment will not sit well with the new game. Just as those BE pets we had pre-CU could not be used again.

But broken or not - it was still the best damn game on the market for mature players (who incidently are the ones with deeper pockets and had more than one account) Both my accounts will be gone with the CH and BE professions. I can't bring myself to respec out of something I have loved for so long, and I won't be deleting pets, there is nothing I want to be in the new professions - not even jedi. I could have gone that way a long time ago.

Delete a pet? Are there really CHs out there who do that?

Yes

I don't consider it deleting

I consider it setting them free

It's a much better thing for me to do it than have soe 3 months from now decide to clean up and make room for more crap they push as publishes and upgrades.

Especially not the quest ones that take up no space in your data pad

Say what you will, but I'd just as soon release the pets I have, minus the reward mounts, and start over with whatever half-assed implementation they come up with.

The odds are, any pets saved now will be farged up the bunghole in conversion.

Seriously: Why not? It won't make me any happier to stare at them every day in my datapad, knowing I will most likely never be able to call them again.

I'm no Ch since a few weeks anymore but Id never dare to delete my pets.... but tbh, why shouldnt we? Even if there will be a day when they reintroduce CH to the system or add CH skills to any existing iconic professions, what should it help u? I u r not lucky enough to have choosen the right profession, that will get the CH skills, then it doesnt help u anything as u arent allowed to switch to another profession.

Imo the best u can do is, enjoy ur last days, make nice screen shots ( HDD death killed my pre CU screens ) and go out and tame a fair few rarely seenlevel 10 pets ( like the Kai Tok), name them, train them, skill them out..... I guess a lot of players will admire u in the future, when theres nothin other anymore around then varactyl, bolotaur, kash bantha and ugly lava flea. Which newb didnt start with Ch as a first combat profession.......

Thanks for the tip. I'd hate to lose my Great Plains Stalker. Honestly, I wanted to delete them rather than let them suffer the indignity of being deleted by the new system (yeah I know that's sentimental and mushy, but I'm among the company of those who would understand). Now I know Imay notnecessarily have to.

I've come to learn that when the powers that be says that something "could" happen... it means "people will be begging for it for about a year before we do something about it... and even then it will be half arsed".SO I have little hope for that.

My pets will stay with my character, and maybe if they do miraculously bring back CH I'll come back.
