With such a little amount if vitality damage your pet is not really effected.

Now when the vitality drop 20 points you will see the max health the pet can be healed to is less then what it should be.

For example: my mtn squill had lost 40 points vitality. its max health is suposed to be 9700 but it would only heal up to around 6000.

Y have to buy pet vitality medpacks and heal the pet. it is like repairing armor or a weapon in that the overall vitality of the pet drops but it regains some of lost vitality.

I got a weird email from a guildy the other day asking me to fix his R3 combat droids vitality. I said "what vitality"?. Then I noticed that the previous stat vitality, that never seemed to go down for me, is down on the new droids I made. He is also saying his droid is now down to 63/100 on vitality.

I know vitality has been on these droids from when I started but when did they start working?

And how do I fix it? I tried my repair droid, and a reconstruction kit, and all I get is "X" doesnt appear to have wounds"

Any ideas?

thanks

No idea about how to repair vitality... But, I can explain vitality...

Creature pets have vitality, that is how many incaps your pet can take before it's dead for good... CH can get a "Pet Vatility Medpack" from a BE to heal their pet.

Have him by a pet vitality pack, put it in inventory, then click Use Vitality Pack from the droid's datapad icon. Verified this on my probot.

nope, stats just go down steadily until they're at something like 75% of the original, then it stops getting worse I think.

Yep, works the same as a pet...even the same vitality packs. Every time the droid gets DB'd he loses a point of vitality. Repairing them will not put them back to 100%, but will put them to 99/99. Next time they go to 98/98, etc.

Do they permanatly die or something?

I think thats probably a good guess. I'd be surprised if anyone has let their pets die that much though. That would take a LONG time to do that.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

it never reaces 0/0. I think it caps at 1 or something like that and at that point the pet only has 25% of its origional stats.

One way vitality loss occurs from high excess damage as Dodece mentions, although I don't know how much is needed. My guess is that this is where the loss comes from PvP. Despite 'fixing' it several times, they have never looked at the problem when it concerns damage.

Creatures and NPCs do still deathblow. When examining a creature, the stat is hidden from view since the CU, however it does still exist. Mobs do not seem to have a timer like players do, as I have had a few pets receive a deathblow even though I was constantly shooting the target.

So be wary of your pet getting incapped against foes.
