You have said that you need to use the creatures you tame in combat to learn their special abilities. I have seen in other posts that you cannot see what (if any) special abilities a creature has before it is tamed, but that once they are tamed you can see what they have.
You won't know if a pet has an Ability until it hits your datapad. As soon as the control device hits the datapd, you will be able to see any Ability that it may have
Ipresume that this means that onceyou tame a creature, you can view its ability list, and it will already know a certain special. I also figure that to "learn" that so that you can train it to other creatures, you need to level that pet a bit as directed, but that the pet that it is already on can use it without you having to learn it. Do I have that all right?
Its difficult to tell with all Abilites, whether or not the pet 'automatically' has the ability. Commandable Abilities will function when the taught command is used. Innate Abilities do not appear to be functioning on tamed pets, unless the pet is /trained. So, yes you cancommand the pet to use an ability as soon asyou tame it.

8 appears to be 'fully grown' status. From what Keldarin stated in a reply to on of my posts, they do not have a maturiy cap. You can continue gaining 'maturity level' with your pet until the Bantha's come home. However, the CL of your pet will determine the number of Trainable Ability Slots. This appears to be gained after 8 - 10 maturity levels.

OK since I'm still confused...... How many maturity levels do pets have? Is it based on CL or is it the same for all creatures?
8 levels of maturity will make the pet fully grown in appearance. It also appears to be what will give you the the max number of Ability slots, at least for lower CL pets. Higher CL pets may max out a higher maturity levels. Where higher levels of maturity come into play is would be for Training Points, so that you can train higher Ability Levels. I've not been able to get any higher Level Abilities yet, but know that they have an incresed Training point cost.

Ok so whats the point in leveling a pet past 8 maturity levels?
So a full grown CL70 Rancor can learn how many abilitys?
Do the abilitys vary from Rancor to Rancor? so one can lean X abilitys and another can learn two more? Can i see the number of abilitys the pet will be able to learn when i have tamed it? can some abilitys only be learned by some pets? or can all pets learn every ability?has anyone allready heared about more abilitys like area-KD or bleeding-attack.....

All of my testing has been with CL25 and lower.CL1 - CL10 have 4 Ability Slots as a cap. Other then that,it iscurrently unknown.

Ability Slots are based on the CL of the creature, according to Keldarin.
Can i see the number of abilitys the pet will be able to learn when i have tamed it?
You won't know how many Ability Slots a pet has until it stops gaining them, or after you have trained it with learned abilities, and the pet lists as Fully Trained
can some abilitys only be learned by some pets? or can all pets learn every ability?
All pets appear to be able to learn all Abilities. What level of a pet can learn depends on how many Ability Slots and Training points it has.
has anyone allready heared about more abilitys like area-KD or bleeding-attack.....
/point at list.
The listed Abilities are what have currently been discovered, with a few others that I haven't added just yet.

Ok, so if a pre-Pub21 pet gets converted, it gets the same amount of ability slots, as if it would be tamed after Pub21 and leveled up? No disadvantage with old pets?
Another interesting question is, do the pets still have their natural level cap, or can every pet be leveled up to cl70???

And what if someone prefers to play with 3 cl23 pets or 2 cl35 pets? Can you lock their level or prevent them from gaining XP and leveling up??? Or are multiple pets not viable anymore????

And, last I heard, there is no solid information about existing pets other than they won't automatically have abilities at conversion. Whether or not they will gain abilities as they accumulate XP, if there will be any XP gained for them retroactively, or whether or not they will require pooper-scoopers is something that isn't yet on the Test Center, and the Devs aren't saying.
EDIT: It appears I was mistaken. See this thread for more information about existing pet conversion.

Tonja
I guess this is a good as anywhere to ask a question.
Have we done any testing to see if the training xp points gained by creatures (of same level)is higher for MCH than novice CH?

If I read this correctly, I believe the training level has no real impact on CL, it's two different things entirely. Although the CL seems to effect the training level, or at least the max number of abilities able to be learned. Is this correct?
