Thread: Tired of The complaining?

i think you missed one very important point for a lot of ch's msot fo the fun of the professin for me comes fomr going out and spending days sometimes looking for a pet i really want, th excitment of taming it the satisfaction form training it and thne later using it knwoiung that I tamed this creature i trained it and this is my pet no one helped its a peronsal achievement just like rares used to be (i REALLY miss having rares to hunt down)
you can say use be pets all yu like but using a frankensteain creation lessesn the fun for me (and im a mbe on another server who until the cu hit specilised in pet creation(post cu im stll experimenting but msotly aiting for specaisl to get fixed so i cna actualyl make decent custom pets once more)) if all we had was be pets tamed fomr deeds id have never bothering becoming a ch if we ever get reduced to jsut be pets ill never tame again and most of the fun will be gone for me
wild pets ned to be viable because for amyn ch's be parts are not an option using thme lessens th efun we get fomr the profession and you souhldnt have to give up your fun jsut to be viable widl pets sohuld be you get what you get if you wnat something specific you go to a bio engineer who cna custom craft a pet to your specifications (subject to limitaitons on level) but be pets should not be the onyl viable options for many fo us that woudl ber a deathlbow to the profession
you'll never get me to use be pets as my companions but if you get be pets as the only viable option you will get me to stop buying pet stims as i wont need them anymore and imsure im not the only ch who dislikes using be pets (btw my non-ch characters have be pet mounts and do use them)
Taming is fun for you? LOL!
I think combat is fun. Creating better pets is fun. Chasing some little baby around saying "dont bite me", or "good er... boy" doesnt really thrill me.

It might not thrill you, but it thrills other people. Please respect that. I have BE pets and a few wild pets. It does seem that the BE pets have an advantage, but I enjoy getting the natural pets off my own back rather than simply buying them.
You enjoy creating them, we enjoy catching them. It all boils down to personal prefference and you cant argue against that.

I am sorry, I understand you are new (so am I) but if you admit you are in a position where you knowlittle of what you are commenting about, how can you comment? Untill you have been throughsome the mis-haps,some ofthe bugs, untill you have watched as BH and Jedi professions take centre stage while MCH, AS, Dancer ect are relegated to second class even though our money is as good as theirs, than you will realise why people are so angry.
Again I ask, why do game slike SWG have forums? Its so people who are unhappy can make their points known (as well as those who are happy). In this instance I honestly think people complaining helped to get the "fix" out quicker than if people had kept quiet.

Point is, being a MCH/MBE, my overall combat level is technically 54. Yet here I was, a level 54, using a level 70 cat to kill a level 75 behemoth.
This is the problem though, and why I eventually quit CH. The CH prof is "front loaded". At low levels, it's great. At level 54, you can use a level 70 pet vs. a level 54 enemy and get experience points for it while your pet tanks and does damage just great.
Now become level 80 though, mastering, say, Carbineer as well as CH. Suddenly your highest pet is 10 levels below the things that give you experience. You send that level 70 pet (even a BE'ed one) up against a level 80 and it lasts 30 seconds, or, it lasts a while because the instant you shoot the enemy, he pretends your pet isn't even there and comes after YOU.
This is the funadmental problem. Pets do not work against level 80+ content, but work fine against level 70 and below (and probably perform "OK" in between, neither great nor awful). So for a level 66 person with level 66 pets fighting level 66 content, it's great! But for a level 80 with a level 66 pet trying to fight level 82 content, the pet ends up being a burden more than a help -- which is why after 2 months post-CU as a TKA/CH having to tank for my pets I decided there was no longer any point to wasting all those SPs to have them, and gave it up in favor of another combat prof, where I could actually use my full 80 levels to my advantage.
EDIT -- typo

Well, in terms of XP, you have a point. In terms of kicking gluttes, its works just fine.
I remember that... oh yeah. I wasn't a Creature Handler then, but I did have the (dis)pleasure of fighting a few masters during that time. I was one of the first Commandos, so I got to pit my weak Launcher pistol (that gave pistol experience instead of heavy weapons experience...) against 3 full-grown Rancors. That sure was fun XD
I distinctly remember walking out of the cloning facility to help my fellow Imperials against a Rebel MCH. Good thing a TKM came out and killed the MCH, because the rest of us had our hands full.
I honestly think that, at this point, CHs should start going back to the way they were originally. Maybe not three level 70 Creatures, but I think there should be changes to the "Max Level" system.
My suggestion: a Max Level Creature, and then a Level Total. So, for instance, a MCH would have Max Pet Level +70 and Pet Level Total +130, so they could have a level 70 and a level 60 out, or two level 65's, or three level 42's, etc.
CH is still a profession. i thought we were a bu ch of people with CH over our heads that people could cream NERF! at and then laugh until we got some unsatisfactory bonus.

* Live - CH was the undisputed king of combat. Honestly, we were overpowered because a master could have three pets of any tamable CL out. We could do this within 10 days, time enough for our babies to reach adulthood. Crafting professions would take months to figure out their crafting systems and obtain the necessary resources to make the best items.

This would be a bit too far. I think it would be best if they amped up CH commands like enrage, and embolden. Perhaps added in a few new CH only command buffs. This way the creatures themselves would not need alterations, only the CH abilities would need to be tweeked if not in balance with the rest of the game.
- a combat burstrun for pets. This would be a sprint into or out of battle...
- Pack attack. A special coordinated pet attack that works like volleyfire, but for your pets. Combined with enrage, melee pets could do some great up close damage! Requires the use of more then 1 pet.
- A CH only pet stimpack recycle time buff. This is our job! Why cant we heal our pets faster?
- The CH only ability to fire without penalties while mounted on pets.
Things like this would add a great deal to CH without having to alter creatures at all... like they did in the horrible patch 7.

So you think it is appropriate that a level 80 CH/whatever should be consigned to fighting green or grey cons to "kick gluttes" while a level 80 combat/combat character can tackle several level 82s at once and not flinch?
I've been level 80 both with and without CH. Having CH significantly weakened me relative to how I am now with dual melee combat mastery. What is the point to having levels at all, if all level 80s are not approximately equal?
IMO, CH should count as half levels or something, so that having mastered CH and TKA (or whatever) you're level 68ish. This way you can gain experience, fight things that con blue/white/yellow to you (rather than grey) and still have your pets be useful (and gain XP).
