I hope I'm not hoping too much thinking of when JTL comes around that instead of it being just detached from the main game where you go into space via a loading screen as per travelling between planets but that it will be fully integrated so that you can take your ship up into space.. hmm.
If it was truly integrated, then I guess it wouldn't be too hard for the devs to then apply "flight" to certain mounts (obviously there would be have to be limits for our flying mounts vs space ships).

yes, your hoping for too much. sorry. when JTL goes live we'll be using the starship terminals that can already be found in the starports and then after a loading screen we'll be inour ships.
as i say to everyone in game - please dont get too excited about JTL - it is the same guys that made the current bug free emotional roller-coaster ride of grind and delivery/destroy missions we all love now. it may be ok at start but just wait until someone like TH takes the rightous nerfbat of 'balance' to it. ok pessimism mode deactivated.
- Allow people to perform more actions while mounted (craft, areatrack, mask scent, etc.)
- Eliminate the gallop timer entirely, and make gallop the default mode for a mount, i.e., the "travel mode" - hitting /stopgallop would put the mount into its "battle mode" during which it slows down for combat, etc.
- About the item holding idea - scale it with the physical size of the mount instead of the CL (i.e. savage humbaba can store 20 items, carrion spat can carry 5) to compensate for the lower gallop speed
