The lvl one be pets are just like the wild ones, exactly. Same ham same resists same everything except they are lvl one. Still unfair advantage I guess but unlike the lvl 10 pet with the outrageous stats, if you have a lvl one gurreck it is no tougher than a wild gurreck. The only thing is you can have two out and both are as tough as a gurreck. Don't know as I approve or disaprove have never seen one.

Hi

i have been a CH from the start, and yes if you are a true creature handler then i suppose you should only have wild pets, that you have tamed your self, i myself have only ever have pets that i tamed, untill about3or4months ago when a player was giving up CH and asked me if i wanted his pet as he did not want to delete it, so i said yes and glad i did as its the strong`est pet i have now ( its a BE pet i think), i still use all my pets for helping me out in a fight or stting in the camp with them, not just the BE one, as i enjoy useing my razor cats, huurtons and many others, i don`t really think having BE pets is a bad thing, i mean how many ch`s get a pet out and say to them selfs...ugh i have just got a BE pet out quick put it back, to be trueful i do not, in fact it never really enters my mind, untill i read this thread

I dont even think that making all critters under CL 70 will help. BE pets are far stronger and you can call multiples for a greater effect than natural pets. Nothing natural can really compare to a BE pet of the same level. A CL 50 BE rancor will be totally incredible compared to a CL 50 natural rancor, better armor, resists, damage, specials, and even at a lower CL. Naturals just cant cut it compared to BE. I'd rather use a pet I've caught myself but in the current state of the profession we need every edge we can get.

If you think about it, it's not just the pets that are engineered...

*you* are a clone...Unless you've never died in the game, you're technically an engineered 'clone' of yourself.

I have both, but definately prefer my wild tamed pets. I am very proud of the effort I went to in order to obtain my rarer pets like my Merek Deaths Head and Mantigrue Screecher.

Thats something that i just dont have with the BE pets.

My first pet was a BE Gurrcat called Ted. Thought he was great. I gave him away to some player in Coronet and I actually felt sad to see him go! I'd like a BE Graul as I can't find a baby, and when I do some bugger kills it.

For a long time, i was against BE pets in general. I still believe that the best pets should come from the wild, not some test tube... Although i do have a few BE pets now, i only use them for certain purposes ie bumping mission level or something like that.

Keep it that way... grauls are the anti-christ

All of my BE pets I made myself back when I was an MBE, so each and every one of them is very special to me. But all of my wilds have that sentimentality attached to them, since they are all frommy pre-BE days.

They're all wonderful and special.

i almost exclusively use b.e. pets for combat and usually gurreks at that but i do have a good bit of natural pets that ive tamed deaths heads, grauls, a rancor which are mostly eye candy for the non ch out there. its funny how i get a yawn when i pull out soul a lvl 44 gurrek with 10k hams light armor and60 kin resis and 75 resis to blast and energy then 50 resis to everything else but cold ( vuln) but ooo get a rancor out that cant even begin to match that and oo how the ignorant clap .

i dont realy understand the anti b.e. stance but thats me play your character how you like but i do know this when i wanted a dog irl i went to the pet store i didnt hunt him down in the alleyways of the wrong side of towntohave a purer dog heheh

The Anti-BE stance has a lot to do with the CH nerfs that happened all those years ago. Many creature handlers feel let down that the prized pets they could capture are no longer the great wonders they once were and for a few credits they could get something better.

Bah, me, I ain't worried about it. I have one BE pet in my data pad, and he's a Rancor cause I wanted one. Once I can get a real rancor, He's gone. The only BE I'll wind up having will be a Kimo, cause you can't tame them. But that's my choice, I just prefer natural tames to BE ones.

But I'm not a purist. I say use what you feel. If you want that level 69 durni with blaster breath and OMG 1000 TICK POISON! then go for it. Each to there own, just have fun.

^^ what he said about why peeps are against BE pets probably. There is VERY little room in my datapad for tamed pets, I gave clowd a rhoa kwi guardian last night and I will give away any other rares that are not in the top six, or extremely useful. I will never sell em though.

The top six have a home though.
