Thread: I'm a CH, please nerf me.. lol

You all seriously believe the nerf isn't coming?

I'm a CH. 1 skill box earned so far, in Management I.

I have no fear whatsoever of PvE on Tatooine. My dragonet (whichI tamed on day 1 as a nov CH) can munch anything that aggros on me, unless I draw a whole pack of mountain squills or a krayt, and even then he'd hold them off long enough until I got away.

One of the hardest areas in theory on Tatooine (Ft Tusken) is mauled with CHs. It's not a Tusken raider outpost, it's a zoo.

I have 'one' creature out right now, I got ambushed after taking out a rebel mission by some other players, and incapped one of them due to my creature. Two players staking an ambush on one and I mow one of them down?

All of you people out there claiming the class doesn't need a nerf need to calm down and think about the game as a whole. Stop insulting people who have the game's longevity as a primary interest. As a creature handler myself, I'm tired of seeing novice CHs towing around a rancor. I'm tired of seeing all of the 'harder' areas being mauled by a menagerie.

The devs will HAVE to nerf the profession at some point, coming up with logical ways to go about it without wrecking the playability of the class is perfectly legitimate, and certainly the mature way to approach the problem.

1) Pet perma-death. With creature perma-death, this gives a jump start to the very dead economy between BEs and CHs. There's supposed to be a support/crafter class for the CHs so that we DON'T HAVE to run around trying to find decent creatures to tame. Right now that whole system is borked because pet perma-death doesn't exist. Someone above claimed something about suffering downtime for hours because they took on too hard a mob.. that's SUPPOSED to happen. Taking on something difficult should be.. difficult! Repercussions SHOULD exist for taking on something that's too much for you. If defeat has no penalty, then victory is never as sweet. That's what game balance is all about.

2) Slower stored pet healing. I think an hour is entirely too long for 're-healing' an incapped or badly wounded pet. Yet, I do believe that the process of camping, storing and re-calling a creature instantaneously is making the multiple stored creature slots a waste. If you have the ability to store six creatures, and it's gonna take 20-30 minutes to get one back in shape, you just call out one of your back ups. Master CHs can have 3 pets out at once, but they can also store TEN. That means they could have three whole teams to rotate, while keeping an empty slot! Creature storing/healing MUST be slowed down to balance the class.

3) Creature limits. Personally, I firmly believe that if you can't tame it, you shouldn't be able to control it. Go to Vegas and find a tiger tamer that believes he could just hand over a bengal tiger to some new creature tamer that's only worked with cockatiels. Ain't gonna happen, folks. Rancors are ALL over the place now, because Master CHs are selling them to novices. We should have two possibilities here - one, transfering a aggressive pet forces the accepting party to attempt to tame it. or Two, if you did NOT tame the creature, there's a far greater chance when you issue a command that it will ignore your command or do something entirely different. Better yet, there should be a chance every time you call a creature you didn't tame that you 'lose control' and you lose it as a pet. Now THAT keeps the CH class interesting!

a novice CH using a Rancor to fight two guys using low grade weapons..

or a guy using a dragonet to fight people with low grade weapons...

the chances are you fought people who dont have very good weapons/tactics.. If, as a ch, i duel someone, i am praying they shoot at my pets and not me.. I'm really hoping that they dont have good weapons.. and if they shoot at me and have good weapons, they'll win.. I may have chitin armor and a scout blaster.. but if they shoot mind dmg.. no chance for me..

Nerf is not a good word. Adjusted would be better. I agree that novice CH should not be able to handle a Rancor, but you shouldnt have to be master either. I say if you can't tame it, you shouldnt be able to control it. And you really have to fight some tough mobs to get xp when fighting with rancors. One hour for full heal when stored? Come on we already have to camp to pull them back out. 15 mins at most, probably less than that. Perma death? What are you crazy!!? Man you can take a while trying to find, tame, and not to mention grow that pet to full size. So yes, some adjustments can and probably should be made, but everyone stop using the "N" word, I'm afraid to go throw the football with my nephew with all this talk

PerdanListallagon - Rancor is just the example. No novice CH should have a pet anywhere near that calibur.

bahnomorenames - just pointing out I am wanting an adjustment that will still let Master CH have the same strength just not let newbies be 1/3rd as powerful in the CH tree for only 6 skill points or 2/3 as powerful for 18 skil points while the masters spen 63 skill points and 7 times the CH XP.

MasterEmanuel - honestly if you won agianst 2 brawlers they are bad brawlers. Pet or no pet they should have been able to take you out unless the where far lower in the brawler tree then you where in the pistol tree.

Natalie - I agree with you that it needs to be adjusted but Azhrael said "I'm a CH, please nerf me.. lol" no where did he/she say "Adjusted". Half the problem is the post leads in with a Troll.

WombatRun - Good post.... but actually Master Creater Handler can store 15 pets. hehehe. Not sure on the Perma death as but something needs to be done to age our pets. I'd like to see something where BE would be involved with our pets too.

You guys have to remember that Bio Engineers can make pets that dont have to be tamed,,,,

I mean if the creature is cloned I can understand why any handler, even a novice would be able to use him. Perhaps that would make everyone happy? if only cloned high level creatures could be used by novices and the actual tamed ones could only be used by those with taming skill that high?

eh ??

Personally I dont care, I'll probably never do PVP I just want a pet to wander around with me while i'm soloing.....

I was SO happy when they made factiontroopers perma death.. PvP was PvPlayer. Now that CH's are showing up everything the entire game is PvPets. I am a CH and I want to be nerfed because I am quite tired of seeing everyone able to run around with 3 9000hp pets.. I mean seriosuly give me a break.

Make the following changes:

1) Pets need to be perma death.

2) Pets need to have a 1 hour timer once recalled to be able to be called again. OR #3

3) Pets need to not be fully restored to full hp's when called and released again.

4) Pets need to have a rating, and CH's should only be allowed a max rating out at one time. Rancors would be 100 rating and tusk cats would be 30. You can only have 100 points out at once, so this would allow only 1 rancor out at once, OR 3 smaller creatures. NO ONE should run around with 3 Rancors or sludge panthers.

Add to this list as you want, and don't cry because this profession needs to be nerfed very badly.

if you are really a CH then u have to rething a bit.

i cant believe from a CH to reqad such, its idiotic

it takes ages to grow a pet an if you are not a master yet then i want to see u making exp with permadeath pets. it would take you much much longer, cause u only get exp with lower pets and not big rancors.

and your lower pets will get incapped very often.

permadeath for faction pets ruined the factionpoints totally and ruined GCW hardly, its so bad that rebels build now even harvesters near imperial cities /shrug

permadeath from faction pets has to be removed not same failure to other classes to add.

turn on your brain pls and rethink what you posted here.

with your changes a CH is worth nothing and cant fight much anymore.

only thing we need is that taming skill is bound to handle AND taming, and that pets not permaheal when stored/recalled.

thats what we need as balance but for sure NOT a nerf

if u want to get nerfed go to sado maso studio or play another game please, cause its masochistic

balance YES, nerf NO

Eh, sorry but most time when I heard CH talk, I don't think you want perma death on a pet I mean I heard them taking 3-4 hours looking for babies So I say NO no NOOOO to perma death pets, they are not JEDIS they don't turn into blue glowies

Actauly I disagree with almost all if not all Ideas ^^; Sorry

I'll have to agree with everyone, I think that permanent death for pets is crazy! We would be constantly running around looking for babies, but I also think SOE should make it so you had to be a certain tier for you to control something like a rancor or have it so no creatures can be traded.

As I've said a few times .. when imperials are forced to experience with their AT-ST's because they've dropped 63 skill points into being able to qualify for one, then we can talk about CH pet permadeath.
