As for naming it, I am not sure yet, but I told my guild mate Naediil, who and been helping me look for one, that I was going to name it after him if we found one, his sir name that is which is Dreamshadow.
I have never had nor have I heard of any ch losing control of a pet as grows.

Just name him "Bull"... or "My Precious".

Congrats! A great find and an accomplishment to be proud of, there are very few tamed on all the servers - I amfairly certainI am the only one on my serverwith one (so far). I still haven't named mine, I enjoy the looks and comments when I run around with my full-grown bull rancor in tow and people seeing "bull rancor (baby)" above its head. 
He's a big brute when fully grown, definitely dwarfs regular rancors.

Congrats! Quite a find
It took me around 400 lairs and several weeks of nonstop missions to get mine. I actually had a shot at 2 but the first poofed. But I got lucky the very next day.
I'm still tying to figure out if mine's the only one on Tempest. I see MCHs now and then but have yet to see anyone leading one about.
I named mine "Bully" for the time being because I couldn't think of anything better that also invoked the 'bull' concept.
I've only used him in a fewfriendly duels (with agreement that the pet would be pulled before incap)and folks have been surprised at the plague strike's effectiveness A few jedi friends are trying to convice me to use him against other jedi in PvP because of it- but until vitality loss is 100% guaranteed thing of the past... no freaking way!
