Yes Groups lower your Harvest rate. Think of it as more people skinning the corpse... less to go around..

More accurately you get 60% of what you would have harvested when alone. So if you are in a group of players harvesting a specific item for sale or use it is beneficial to group up. Each scout gets 60% of their normalharvestso two will actually end up getting 20% more than a single scout would have and three or more scouts really increases the yield.

Hi, master CH here. I did a lot of hunting and harvesting this weekend (docs drooling over a nice shift of herbivore on Radiant!). When grouped with other people the harvesting penalty (60% of ungrouped) is definitely in effect. When grouped ONLY with my pets, I got the same meat amounts as when I was ungrouped (no people or pets).
This was not the case when they originally introduced the group harvest penalty, but I believe they fixed it so that grouping with pets (and only pets) has no effect on quantities harvested.
