iwas going to say, i didn't think it had anything to do with factional npcs, only pvp. By the way, deos Vert ever post here anymore? Shouldn't these things be announced?

vitality loss does happen in pvp tho, i was sitting in coronet with my newly aquired pets and healed an overt when some funky jedi-superman jumped in and whiped us out for 15k dmg each.
after that my pets had suffered a vitality loss.
maybe some stuff like an area attack with an incapped pet around works like a deathblow as well or something, never really figured out when my pets would suffer a vitality loss or not.

I'm not sure I understand what needs to be announced? If there is a vitality fix in this publish, I haven't been told. Would be great if one was stealthed in, but nothing like that was given to me to pass along.

I would think you would be telling us about this if it were something that was fixed recently. If they fixed something and didn;t tell anyone that is kind of odd isn't it?

announce what Ekaw?
That they may have fixed something for the 3rd time? They have not been able to get a fix right with CH in ages.
And the Vit loss is supposed to apply to Factional Combat not PvP.
This means TEF or overt combat in opposeing factions
that was never my understanding that is was factional. It has been my understanding that it is PvP. vit loss against npcs should happen I would think. Why would they change that? And "announce what?" means that if the 75% damage reduction has been removed, announce that. That is pretty big if it is true.

Pets definately dont suffer the 75% damage reduction anymore and its almost as if the suffer a "general" damage reduction. Because I rarely see a pet do full damage to any mobs and the damage they do seems to be completely random.

It's not the codeing orb it's the testing or lack of.
There is no reason for us to be on TC except for personal satisfaction, I tried a stint on it, once I found out it runs the same as any other server with haveing to grind skills and money I decided it wasn't worth it to do it all over again. Because of this there are not enough beta testers for a patch.
Codeing is a pain in the ass. I gave it up a looooooooooong time ago. The lesson I learned was so strong I remember it to this day.
I Wrote a 2000 line RPG like the old Zork games for the C64, I wrote it in basic back in Junior high (yeah I was a computer geek then I could write my own programs) after 4 months of writeing it didn't work. I spent another 6 months debugging it only to find out my whole problem was a missing comma in line 64 (ironic to this day because I wrote it for the C64).
It is not easy to pour over thousands of lines of code to find an error as simple as that.
Why am I so critical of SOE with this knowledge. Because as I said They do so little testing it hurts. They force things to live with known bugs (like the silent pets in JTL). Their priorities are screwed up. Quality is job # 385968343766 instead of job #1. They would rather put out a 1/2 assed patch then spend some extra time and put out a quality patch. again I use JTL as an example. How empty is space on your server? I haven't run into another player in space since before xmas, Considering JTL hasn't even been out 2 months that is sad.

I thought they had debugger thingies which checked code and said where it failed or something...and I haven't seen anyone in space either, its really weird, I think their all in deep space or something. But still, this patch affected things which were in entirely different systems, and as far as I know patches will always affect something in a compleatly unrelated system. It just...doesn't make....sense...

Actually from looking at the game ive come tot he conclusion that space and the ground game exist in the same place at the same time and are simply invisible to each other. This explains all the lag, the new y axis, and the meteor bug. So basically when you log in you could have a corrillian corvet sitting 2 feet from your face and you just caint see it.
