I know that some of the correspondents are taking issue with any delay in moving forward in the combat redesign; we'll have to see how this plays out.

LOL Pluto,

You should look at the Blizzard boards and you'll feel right at home. Different words but not a lot of difference in the sentiments. SWG is far from perfect but it does what I want it to: takes my mind off the world and lets me relax.

Here is the key difference, WoW has been in beta for less than a month, SWG has beenLIVE for 8+ months. I would expect the WoW boards to be filled with posts like the SWG forums are. It is not a big surprise and I suspect things will not be in the same state as they are in SWG 8 months in.

I am not flaming, just pointing out some key differences, though you may have ment it that way.

If they seriously are backing off the combat rebalance in order to put more resources towards the space expansion, how many of us are really planning on buying it? I'm currently so frustrated with the game, that i can't evenimagine purchasing an "expansion" to it. If they haven't even been able to get the live version properly balanced, what makes anyone think the space expansion will be any better. IMHO it's better to improve upon the current product and maintain the subscribers you've got, rather thantry to lure new subscribers with the promise of spaceships. I'm just trying to make my $15 a month worthwhile with my two feet planted on the ground (or on the back of my brack! )

Miko,

I for one and not buying SE. It would have to be cooler than Jesus for me to buy it. Short of Hutt Faction, something that really works, and CH bugs being fixed there is no way on the Creators Purple Dantooine I will waste more money.

Here here!

So i was talking with my boyfriend (a master armorsmith) over dinner tonight, and asked him how he liked the changes to the crafting system that they implemented with publish 7. He told me that there was such an uproar that they hotpatched it back to the way it was. Haven't we been raising a large enough uproar? Can't they "hotpatch" us back to the way we were? I have to admit that i'm pretty ignorant about the complex way gaming systems work... alot of what is discussed in the forums goes waaaay over my head; however, i do know that i spend alot of time in front of Coronet spaceport twiddling my thumbs somewhat patiently waiting for something to be done about CH, and hoping that my babies will be worth something one day.... sigh....

Well I was respectful, and I had to adjust my filter so see most of the CH comments.
I still sincerely doubt we will get an answer. I think the post about SL being broken from beta says it all.

THis is the best OPEN BETA I have ever played.

BTW can all the CH's out there go and adjust thier filter, then 5 star the ch posts so we can get them back up there!!

I hate to say it but I agree with pluto, it wouldn't suprise me if the "red names" are doing the 1 staring themselves

Boss,

I agree with the first part, but based on past performance from MMOGs, I'm not sure there will be that much difference eight months after release. It really just seems to be an unfortunately 'normal' situation.

Sorry, guys I cannot be nice to JustG or anyone else who validates themselves by saying "thats the way it is because one person has a vision." Look when I played pencil and paper games, if the GM/DM sucked we found a new one. The GM/DM was supposed to have a vision. If the vision sucked you moved on. Ruins vision sucks. It was prematurely implemented on us.That is the way it is. The only difference here is RuinedSabre is paid to be GM/DM and cannot give any justification for timers on our weapons or a reason as to why the CH class as a combat profession must be "rebalanced" (read as nerfed) one year before any other profession. If they had made pistoleer weapons do one half damage and taken away combat mitigation for them one year prior to any other combat rebalance it would not have been seen as fair. We are the only profession that by itself cannot solo the harder materials in the game. We are also the one profession that does not get any benefit from stacking defense modifiers. If they do not want to play nice (and they are getting paid) I will not play nice (as I am doing the paying).

Yeah, i noticed that Pluto's last message disappeared from the thread (good one pluto ). How do we set our filter? Either i'm blind or the FAQ didn't mention it. I 5-starred all the CH posts last night, but i'll redo it this morning.

I do not know you other than a few rants/well-written posts, so I cannot truly judge what value SWG holds for you. If you have held on this long, I will guess that you see the same potiential I do and feel quitting is giving in.

Really though, why is an online game different from your PnP game? I know I am serously weighing my options right now. (The only things keeping me in the game are my friends and that I lead a PA.) Unfortunately I do not feel the upcoming crop of games is going to suit my tastes any better. Whatever your own decision, good luck.

go to your profile, click on preferences tab, and scroll on down to the ratings stuff.

it's incredibly silly that they have the rating thing on this sort of forum at all. You aren't given to option to rate a dev post; why should you get the option to "rate" another player? We can't be trusted to do that! And of course it's just idiotic to have the default set to not view 1-starred posts if you're going to go ahed and have the rating system anyway. They sure don't know us very well...
