Thread: Think I may have come up with a way of selling Pets on vendors

Great ideas guys and gals. I hope we can get something going with this. And maybe we CHs can start selling pets again. As of now, I have a hard time selling Webmasters for 25k on Chilastria. I think that a vendor would help like crazy.

I think it's a great idea. As Vertexon points out, you could use the bazaar as well. Sort of like one of those tickets that stores use for big items.

Pets still do have some value; but I don't like hanging out at the coronet starport spamming or sitting there having "ForSale" walking around.

Another idea would be to allow the person to buy the item from the bazaar (or vendor at full price), then simply have the pet "transfer" from the CH's datapad to the buyer's datapad. It seems to me they could write the code totransfer pets over long distances. Then all you need is a placeholder on the vendor or bazaar.

A great suggestion but it requires some work to be done from an already overwelmed Dev staff. We need to do something at end arounds them and support it fully.

Huh? Sorry, but that second sentence makes no sense.

Someone on my server came up with something sort of like this. They used backpacks, and put info in the "Description" part of the item. They put them in their vendor. In the descriptions it said that you email the guy, and place an order (for armor though, not pets) and then he will fill the order, and put it in the other vendor, in a crate, and tells you when to pick it up.

Its different, but similar in the sense of that you can place orders using vendors. It was really ingenius if you ask me.

*Laugh* I meant that we need something that does and end around the Dev staff writing or adding more code. We all know that if we wait for something like that it can take some "time".

Yes, you really want to stay in catagory. if you use dice, you will be in the dice column... Let me suggest. Get some pets made from yard trash from a BE. You can get a newbie BE to make them for 500 to 1k credits. I make these for 5k or less. You can then put them in the bazaar. Put them up for auction, 6k.. then go in and bid 6k... it will stay up till end of period.

Who's going to buy a pet from a Creature Handler when Bio-Engineer pets exceed them in every way, including being buyable direct from the vendor without having to arrange a meeting that may need to cross time zones?

If you buy a BE pet you still have to tame it, grow it and train it. Which requires the services of a CH. This system would allow you to come to the CH and get your pet already grown and trained. All the CH would have to do is name it for the customer.
