Thread: I'm getting worried...

However, few people really know, even Master Creature Handlers, that our pets take a full beatingwhile only doing partial damage.

No everyone is not leaving, just the power gamers for whom it is essential that they are the uberest class.
Maybe they will be back once TKA and Commando feel the nerf bat?
I disagree, at least from my own personal standpoint. I have dropped out of MCH for a while (may come back, not sure yet). I have been a CH since 3 days after release. I was in the first 5 MCH on my server. I have lived through, argued for/against (as appropriate), each and every nerf and change my chosen profession has endured. I have faced many of the toughest mobs in the game many times, often solo, and never once had my pets lose even a single point of vitality. Ihave beenroleplaying with my pets for more hours than some new MCH have been in the profession.
Why am I dropping CH now then? Because it is simply more stressful than it is fun. I am going through the cycle of melee professions and pets are quite simply pointless. I hate to say it. I hated even more seeing it with my own eyes and my own experiences, but my CL65 razor cat Chir'Daki is actually as much a hindrance on the battlefield as he is a help. He costs far too much to heal up, does insignificant levels of damage (400ish points of AP0 damage every 2 seconds is basically worthless), autostores left, right and center, gets stuck on terrain and simply causes me stress while playing. I don't mind if I get incapped and killed, but I have always been, as SioBabble once put it, irrationally attached to my pets. Even before they could be killed I never let them get incapped, whatever the cost to me. WhenI felt my pets could actually contribute in a meaningful way I could accept that cost but, for me at least, my pets are no longer helping. They have become a virtual laughing stock and to me that is the final indignity.
I am not going to start a whole new 'goodbye to CH' thread, that's not my style. I want to wish SioBabble, Vertexon and all my old school CH friends here the very best.I will still be reading here, and maybe posting if I can help answer a question. I took up CH to get and playalongside the creatures in SWG, not just to wander around taming the most rare of babies then have them sit in my datapad collecting dust. I'm not a zoo keeper, never will be, but have nothing against those who enjoy that. But very simply CH is no longer fun for me.
Excellent post Sooty. I too am leaving CH eventhough it was and is my favorite profession. CH is just not worth the skill points it costs. I can run missions much faster and cheaply without pets, no autostoring or stims needed. As things stand now the CH profession died when Publish 6 was released some haven't admitted it yet though. I truly hope the profession makes a come back but I believe it was purposely killed by the devs.
