Be glad you're getting such good information.

I just dropped commmando and am going Swordsman/CH. (Swordsman is very offensive, which is good sinceyour creatures are a little slow in dealing damage.)

I also found that you need to keep some medic skills for yourself and getting to commando 0 0 4 0 is a little challenging with the skill points.

I like other combat professions better because I can master them, master Ch, and still have some left over for medic or whatever else I like. So, do commando if you want, it is a blast, for awhile, then you get bored. Also, for creatures that have high resist to heat, make sure you keep your favorite marksman weapon handy, you'll need it.

I'm in the Commando camp. I'm Master CH with just the flamethrower tree of Commando as well. LOVE IT!! Don't care for the DOT nerf, but the better initial damage is cool. I just dropped the trapping line of scout, as it never seemed to work on any strong creatures, and picked novice medic back up, got tired of having to run back to civilization to get healed when a Mantigrue Screecher or Bull Rancor would plague strike me and my pets and drain a whole HAM bar. HAVING A BLAST!!!

I just spent my first day as novice commando/ master CH....what a HOOT!!!!

Ive spent a fair amoutn of time switching between various prefessions - and today I found the perfect way to havea blast (non-pun intended) using CH.

I swtiched from smuggler on Friday, and spent saturday griding up rifle and carbine to get master marksman (annoying as I had only dropped em a few weeks before)...this morning was on dantooine grinding the 40k combat XP needed.

My first purchase post novice commando was a 450-850 flamer....a TKA friend (who I mostly hunt with and ALWAYS WAY outdanages me) hunted with me and we took on a few fierce piket protectors.

I used 'Taz', my BE gurreck and fav hunter partner to pin the pikets, and then 'BBBBLLASSTTTTT' - what was that? - I couldnt believe it - the whole screen turned yellow and a HUGE explosion hit the beast as I fired....even at novice, I was doing 1k damage on these beasts....WOOOT!!!!

My next purchase was a launcher pistol - hehe - these are even more fun - talk about mega blasts...at one stage my whole screen turned yellow and I couldnt see even my avatar on the screen....

all in all - best move I made -I can only get to 0-0-4-0 as I want to keep novice medic....but the idea of pinning a critter with a pet and then frying it with HUGE explosions was really fun today...

for the first time in a couple of months, I felt like I had some serious firepower at my disposal that will save my pets from getting beaten up...

yay! - one convert to commando/ CH here.

its great until you want to kill amything with armour or anything over 50% heat resists :/

I prefer BH and the LLC line with CH, then I have acid, elec, from the scatter abd LLC which pretty much cover most PvE situations

I am TKM, MScout Working on my 4th Holo MCH, very slow. I have to be very careful not to kill things b/4 my pet can get a lick in. It can be a lot of fun, but I'm getting pretty burned out. My gravestone will read Here lies Ycar, a Bothan, TK to the end!

I've tried commando and bh with Ch ( only the weapon trees) both were fine, pre nerf commando was great as the flame dot stack made short work of most creatures. Got bored, so now I'm about half a box out of tkm. Tkm and commando were my fav's with ch. Having enough points to master tkm and throw in medic on top of it is working out rather well. no ranged attack to speak of, but pets can draw em out ok. If I were going to try all of em out I'd take tk last as you can easily carry points over from bh to commando without to much of a grind. tk seemed to take the longest to get going in.

I would think that if you take TKM you would be best to drop CH and pick up doctor so you could self buf. That would seem to be another combo that would be fairly self sufficient. This would work better with human than wookie, since you could kick up your mind stats and then still buff up health and action.

why not pick-up the meditaion line of TKA... in the 4th box you can heal wounds, plus you can meditate off the the poision disease... petstems and food take care of the hurt pets...

now to the topic... i'm working on TKM right now on a new toon... i really don't see then need for pets there... get buffed, powerboost, food and drink, spice as a safety measure... and i'm killing quenkers easy as pie and thats just at the novice lvl... i think from talking to others with that template that you'll find you leave your pets stored more often than not...

commando flame tree is nice cause the pets are actully serveing more of a purpose... they hold the agro till the flame dot kills it...

i've messed around with MCH and pistols, cabines, and rifleman (mastered and stuck with that)... pets are great for ranged professions... i haven't tried any of the brawler with CH but you will be fighting along side your pets...

my advice right now is to go carbines (they are getting fixed nice)... but thats not what you asked, so i'd say commando, but i am biased towards ranged professions...

I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.

Hi,

I have been Master CH/Novice Commando 0 0 4 0 for about 4 months. I have been very quiet because it is a combination that really works. SHH the devs hear this and both CH and commando will get nerfed.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

I wondered about whether I should say Im going commando too...took CH - nerf.....took smuggler...nerf.....

yeah, Im feeling a little like a jinx atm....I just hope commando doesn't feel the power of the 'invaliduser has started to train it - lets nerf the bugger' tendency.
