Thread: So anyone got any ideas for our 2nd 19 questions for next week?
For the most part CH seems to be one of the most active professional boards and much of vert's job is done by the community itself. Vert doesn't really need to post "yeah what (fill in name here) said.
Although admitedly I do wish he would take a more active part on these boards.
Barb.
I realize many of us got it the old fashioned way. The fact is that a pistoleer with Fanshot using a non-CH pet can out XP many people in the game. Same with LLC and flamethrower. Sic pet on lair, AOE, rinse repeat. The total XP required is not in check with the XP/sec gained.
The other question I have is the flat out removal of non-CH combat pets. This in itself does more to hurt our profession than it does to help it. There are no more dabblers because a dabbler is equal to a novice in many aspects. SOE owes us the removal of these pets, or at bare minimum, Specials/Ranged use must become Certs in the CH tree. It would be like me owning a Flamethrower and having FlameCone1 at my disposal without Skill Point usage. It will not be popular but it must be done. Many non-CH BE made pets are doing exactly that, giving non-CH's mid ranged powers of CH.
Pets poofing back into the datapad...supposedly they are looking into it, but it happened to me 4 times last night, while wandering around in my futile hunt for a GPS...as everyone who's searched knows, that is one of the emptiest areas on Corellia, so it's not due to the number of people around...
Mounted pets suffering from vehicle syndrome...I ride a mount because I like to have my ride be able to follow me instead of just sitting there like a hunk of ore, which it now does...
Pets running away in combat...very simple fix there, set allanimals' combat range to 2 meters...then they won't be on top of each other in combat, or run awaywhen one's range is 4 and the other's is 2. I accept that some will want to use ranged attacks and will still runand others won't, but this would fix the problem with non-ranged mobs.
The "run sideways" bug...usually happens after combat, pet runs on an angle...sometimes feeding or tricks will straighten the poor thing out, sometimes not...
Epic Ch quest...if the reward was a one-time "tame adult" I would actually stop debating cancelling my last account and log into this game more than once or twice a week...
More stored pets...I have quite a few pets that date back from my novice days, that I would never use in combat today, but cannot bring myself to release...if there was some way to turn them into furniture like an untamed BE pet, I would accept that, have a couple of lounging narglatches and tusk cats around the house...take them out, /pet them to get them to lie down, and then "convert" them to non-combat status(ie remove the control device). They would then take "deed" form and could be moved as well.
I really enjoy my profession, there's nothing quite like it, and I would like to get that pride back that I had when I first made MCH...

oh i agree with you in that respect im just giving the answer you will get from the devs. in an overall outlook they only see the metrics and the end result of the average player. and in that respect it is working fine and CH is in line with the average joe or jane.
i think it is ridiculous that architect can be mastered in less than 40 minutes if you prepair the resources or just outright purchase them. same with image designer. doctor and CM can be done totally unattended in a few hours with the help of a friend or two.
but CH is one of the few skills that you have to learn to use. so in the process it takes a little longer i dont really mind. ive done MCH twice once under each ruleset and i found the second time to be more difficult but still dirt easy. but then im on the high end of the power grind curve when it comes to grinding a skill when i want to.
but what is not in line is the fact that one can go to the geonosian cavern and unattended macro there for any skill. i think they will finally crack down on it when the holo grind is over and all the friends of the CSRs that play on your local server dont need to holo grind anymore.

Would anyone get behind a question asking for CH mission Terminals that also award AP XP? It seems to me that I do not like depending on people 100% to sell me AP. This is lame in many regards and should not work from the aspect that the teacher pays the student. And surrendering to teach again is merely an Exploit of the system. Each profession should have its own terminal and its own AP type. If you do not have 640 CH AP from either teaching CH skills to someone or the proposed CH mission terminal Missions, then you should not be able to Master CH.
TH just posted about mission terminals in his Weekly Roundtable Discussion, so we probably wouldn't want to hit him wth a similar question:

Actually, the mission terminals are server side. There wont be too much more development on mission terminals though. In general, the team wants to get away from using the terminals and putting different types of content in the game instead.Mission terminals were never intended to be the main source of content delivery, but simply a way to hop in the game and have some quick-fun. As such, the devs are more focused on more engaging types of content.
I'm not saying it isn't important, but the majority of names that are bothering to post to this thread have been masters for how long? Personally I haven't needed xp for eight or nine months. We also know that the rate of advancement is one of the metrics they watch, so while it might satisfy our curiosity, it doesn't really prompt them to examine anything more closely.
I'm curious about Meroc's question regarding how many of us there are, but it falls under the same category. Being able to say "We told you so" to the devs would be rewarding though...
Seir,
I agree, I was not thinking when I brought that up about MCH's it is hard to try to find a way to benifit everyone. The closest I think we can come is asking for the removal of non-CH combat pets. We need a push for Utility.
The CL70 and under was answered unless we can find a more direct and reworded way to ask it.
Combat Rebalance. I do not need to hear that any time soon.
It is a known bug and we are looking into it gets old.
To tell you the truth the one answer I would like is "Where is the known bugs list with known workarounds?" This could be done by class or the most applicable class. Short of that there is not much we can get answered. Why this does not exist is beyond me. And if it did exist it would at least allow the consumer know that SOE is aware of the problems.
