Old issue, SOE (right or wrong) believes that making wild pets stronger than BE'd pets without extreme rarity of the wild ones (Bull Rancor, Frenzied Graul "rarity") would make BE totally obsolete.
That said, just go to the dark side and use BE pets. Here's the current active part of my stable...all BE'd.
CL22/CL23/CL25 trio of Gurrecks. HAMs are 10k red, 8k green, 6k blue, 60% kinetic resist, all other resists vulnerable, damage 150ish, specials blind, intimidate and dizzy between the 3 of them. The two lower level ones have a ranged attack to make sure the 25 tanks.
CL34/CL35 Duo of Narglatchs. HAMs are 10k across the board, 60% kinetic resist, all others vulnerable, damage 300ish, specials dizzy and intimidate on both of em.
CL70 Razor Cat. HAMs just shy of 13k across the board. 50% kinetic, 60% energy, 100% heat/cold/electric 20% stun/blast/acid. damage 500ish, special intimidate.
With those available there is no compelling combat reason to have anything wild tamed. The rest of my slots are generally rare pets that I have for the fun of getting them and parading them around, but that rarely if ever get in a fight. I was a "wild only" CH for months after the nerf, until I realized all I was doing was further crippling myself in a profession that SOE had already done a good job of crippling. BE'd pets are the path now, like it or not.

i dont understand your argument/point with this thread. Creatures in real life are bred to within an inch of inbreed hill billy valley everyday. I myself have a boxer dog (with a heart murmur a character trait of inbreedng according to my vet and breathing problems), now can u honestly tell me that something as ugly as that could happen naturally without the intervention of man. Things are bred to look or behave in a certain way now so why not so in star wars universe. People who want the ultimate in house protection buy a pitbull terrier not a poodle. I would expect Bio engineering to be far more advanced too in swg than our universe. The only reason I posted this is because this post wound me up tbh. If u want something regimented buy a probot.

See, I don't think CH is a combat class, personally. I have always seen CH as more of a hobbyist profession. Yes, you can use your pets to assist you in combat(PvE, anyway), but I personally, would NOT want to rely on my pets as my only means of defending myself in the wilderness, which some people have said you should be able to do here. That's just me.

Do yourself a favour and get BE pets, wild creatures are just pathetic by comparison to them.
I have seen Durni with 10k hams, the model they use is not as important as the dna which is used in them, so when a Durni is used with Bull Rancor DNA you end up with a killing machine, I like the 'looks can be deceiving' pets. I have some bunnies that have strong disease specials and ranged attacks and they do no get as much attention in large scale PvP fights as say a big-arse Kimo running around with the 'please shoot me' flashing neon sign on it.
I like my CL70 Dewback mount, has a 13k ham, light armour, 60% kinetic and most of the other resists are reasonable 30s to 40s (except lightsabre of course), 580-590 damage and KD/Dizzy specials. It is a fairly mean mount.
Not going to find pets like that out in the wild, and perhaps we shouldn't. A rifleman can't find free weapons, a brawler can't find free armour. I don't mind rewarding BE's and the good thing is I can buy hundreds of BE pets and leave them in dead form in my house.

I completely agree and have been saying this since I picked up the profession. Most people here will go on about how CH is a combat class. Well if we are a combat class we should be treated like one so that means you have to go out and actually spend money on weapons. With the exception of rares BE pets should be better than wild ones.

We don't make clothes....we make the products that make themuber
We don't make food....we make the products that make it uber
We don't make pets to be equal or less than there wild counterparts....we use the DNA of your dream pets to make them uber
And let me tell you something CH.....
You need to embrace the need for tougher BE'd pets in this lop-sidedCH profession. Honestly, I am a CH and I have tried using both types of pets, wild and BE'd. I spend a great deal of my time conjuring up Pet Stim C's, on the fly, just to keep the natural pets healed up. My BE'd pets tank so much better. From a play time and pet stim cost analysis.....the BE pets will save you time, frustration and credits in the long run.
What I have a hard time understanding is this.....
The other day, Ihad pulled my natural Boar Wolf (Toby) out on another, solo, Boar Wolf to see how they fair aganist each other. Kinda like a dog fight really...
Tobywas tea-bagged by the wild Boar Wolf. They had equal HAM but, the wild's damage was 1/3 to 1/2 better than Toby's damage. The wildcreaturecompletely ownedand equal counterpart that was tamed. What is that about?
Anyone else ever discuss this issue?

Yep, it's been discussed at length. I guess the developers thought it was necessary to not only nerf wild CH pets and make all pets totally useless in PvP, but they also determined thatall pets should be inferior to their wild counterparts.

Man....I'm surethat many of you find this particulalywrong,.... as I do.
I am really hoping the Devs give the Creature Handler profession the attention it needs and deserves during the CR. Ifthey don't,.... I really see no need in this profession continuing asa part of SWG anymore. Forgive me if I hurt anyone's feelings by saying this. Sometimes the writing on the wall seems terribly imminent.
I get the feeling at times that one of these days someone will do the old /examine on me, read my character bio and say, "Wow!! You were a Master Creature Handler??!!!! What was it like to control pets in the game? Did they PWNZR? Did you teabag the hell out of the other professions?"
/tell 1337c0mb4td00d shoo.....go solo a Gorax or something....let me drink my jawa beer...... alone....

Sorry it must be getting late, but i'm not seeing the problem. The BE pets are uber compared to the wild ones, i think everyone agrees to that. But the fun is taken away cuz a big part of ch is taming. Why can't you tame if you've got a BE pet?
I got BE pets, though I still hunt for babies to tame them for fun. But when it's time for combat, i'd prefer a be pet.
Maybe a stupid comparison, but i never hear the combat classes argue that the looted weapons aren't stronger than the ones weaponsmiths make. I think when you look at it that way BE's are the weaponsmiths of CH's. Though of course you see if we 'looted' a rare 'weapon'

If you have to look at it in retrospect of the profession, Bio-Engineers can tamper with DNA and alter one's physical makeup, and that has been a mainstay of the Bio-organic field in real life for years. Enhancing what nature did, speeding up evolution, if you will, to try to find defenses against diseases and cures for human ailments. If Bio Engineers can make stronger, faster pets, it is because that is what their profession is supposed to do. I know that is no consolation, but I don't think it's necessarily wrong for Bio-Engineers to be able to do this, just hard for CHs, like us to accept.

I have no problem with BEs being able to create the best pets. In fact, I'm currently working with a BE on Valcyn to make a monster of a pet, and I've really enjoyed working with him (Dakari).
The problem lies in the fact that wild pets have been nerfed into uselessness. Even the highest level wild pet we can currently tame (CL 65 bull rancor) can't hold a candle to an average CL 50 BE pet... and the bull rancor is so rare that I know CHs who have spent 6 months looking without ever finding one.
Most CHs stick with CH for the thrill of the hunt... taming wild pets.We certainly don't stick with CH to be uber.By making wild pets useless, the devs are killing my desire to be a CH... the only profession that I really want to be in this game.
