It is the same thing I have spoken out against before. The entire process of this CU is absent-minded at best. They are putting no thought into their release dates or the level of what they are releasing. They have pissed off 90-95% of the community because of it. The changes are not in question and those who will leave are not going to be swayed unless they completely call off the CU. The problem here is that they are being fools about what they are showing people. It proves they have no pulse on the community and no care about it's well being. In ther present incarnation they are spoiled internet (a word) who are pretending to be thoughtful. They are acting like a high school clique that was given power.
They can pretend to let people voice their concerns all day long but it is a waste of air. They are not going to listen, they are just going to pretend to notice and move on. I mean look at me, I have dedicated myself to kicking them in the gut on everything they say (within reason) since this started. And even me they are barely taking notice of. (Although I may be on a list somewhere)
They rushed this like idiots and are hiding from the people who are calling them on it. The only reason this minor test center blurb was given was to try and placate people and keep them distracted. You do not need however many gigabytes of data it was to implement the small changes they did. They took the unfinished version of the CU and turned off all but novice CDEF rifles and some minor creatures otuside a city. They are rushing this recklessly, pure and simple. It is a marketing ploy and that is all. Why do they not care how it effects us? We already paid for the game, market research shows there is almost no chance we won't buy the expansion. So therefore they don't have to give a (hoot) about how we feel about it.

Having played quite a bit so far (just became unemployed so have tons of spare time) I must say that the initial shock has worn off.
The icon change is jarring, and some people are bringing up very legitimate reasons for them not going live, particularly that for those who are colorblind, they're simply a mess. They're just not starwarsy, not simple and elegant like the current icons. Too busy, too cartoonish.
As for the combat system itself, it's not that bad. There are serious bugs and problems, though, particularly with autoattack (you have to set it yourself, and it will "unset" itself under certain circumstances) and XP, which of course can be changed.
What concerns me long term is that once again, this is being rushed, like beta 3 was. The result was that the high end wasn't tested, and the devs had no chance outside their frankly inbred little inhouse sandbox to find out how players would react to it. I strongly suspect we're going to see many new imbalances and exploits being discovered in the high end after the CU goes live, and we'll essentially be right back to where we started, with certain templates being "uber" and the usual crowd of min/max powergamers ruining the game for everyone.
