you dont need to keep your distance. buffed with 80% composite armor, and with the pets running macros to spam state effects like intimidate constantly, you can get up close and personal taking little damage from the dragons.
I am master rifleman, master creature handler, and medic 4340.
I use pet stim c's that a friend makes for me at 1200 per heal and regular stim d's that heal for 1k with each shot. with the medic skills i am healing my per every 5 seconds or so at most with uber stims. If hey are buffed, it is easy, if not it is much harder.

Sorry, I was not clear - I meant needing to keep your distance to be effective with the rifle...

with a mch/mbe template you should be able to make yourself decent stims that said you could probably tank most content in the game and rely on your pets to do damage (as limited as it may be)
just be prepared to stand and heal for a very long time
if it took me 20 min to kill a graul or 40 min to kill a tuskin warlord I probably wouldn't lol
that template is not for combat but for roleplaying and crafting
good luck in what you decide to do.

oh no, just 1 heal practically heals the entire pet, then runback. I am healing for like 4k per shot (1200 with the pet stim and like 3000 with the stimd at that level of medicine use.) so two shots and the pet is completel healed. Someone here used to rotate teh pets with different commands so they did not have to go in close, cant remember who that was.
They had diff commands, sent in a pet and pulled 1 back as needed to heal. Can be done, just takes practice.`

I'm a Master BH/CH 4-2-0-3/Novice Medic, with Force-Sensitive Ranged Defense-4. My level in CH allows me to use up to level-35 pets. I can solo rancor lairs with ease, especially with a good bioengineered pet with light armor and good kinetic resistances. Natural pets tend to take a significant beating, even graul maulers.By contrast, a CL-32 razor cat with light armor and 60% kinetic resistance will hold up well even against enraged rancors.Nightsister Rangers and Singing Mountain Clan Dragoons are routine, as are pairs of Dantooinian Wild Force Wielders.

Hi folks!
I'm thinking of dropping my M-Swordsman in nearest future to go for M-CH (since I'm finishing my M-BE template and would like to utilize own pets).
But I wonder what will I loose in combat terms? As M-Swordsman I can solo Vorritor Dashel lair without buffs (just whiskey) or Brackasetes.
Being an M-CH with best avaliable pets (either BE of tamed from the wild) - what will be my solo-ing level? (no additional combat professions).
Thank you.

Aahh, okay - got it now, thank you...
I think the "rotation" method might be pretty hard to pull through when things get rough... For me it is often so that I more or less tank and the pets sneak their attacks in on the side...

CH solo ability isnt much. Combat profession is really a necessity. There are players here that do without it, but it's not recommended. Rifleman and BH work well. Lots of CH/Pistoleers. Havent seen a CH/Carbineer, but I've only seen about 3 carbineers anyways.
Melee characters get a little shafted with CH, sice most MOB's will attack the player before the pet. With ranged you can back off outside aggro range and let the pet do 100% tanking, with melee you are going to be the target and the pet secondary damage dealer.
however, you just need a different kind of pet. Rather than BE for Tanking, BE for Offense. Dizzy/KD/Cripple (Crippling Strike is a posture down attack and will cause KD if Dizzy'd) and as high a damage as you can cram in would work nicely. I believe the KD attack with MHS is broken, so having Dizzy/KD/Cripple on tap would help you kill faster. Engineer in some Arachne Widow, Webmaster, Rancor, or Kimogila DNA and you might be able to hit 800-1100 damage per hit. Thats more than most weapons, though sadly that is AP 0 Kinetic. Against an AP1, 30% Kin thats still a good 300-500 damage a hit. Wont be doing the DWB anytime soon, but thats enough for Dantooine, Dathomir, or Endor.
I've found creatures work pretty good for lairs too. I hit for about 3-4K with Lightning Single 1, in between shots my Gurreck can do about 1000 damage over 3-4 attacks. Sending in a pet to attack a lair will cause it to draw aggro as long as it is attacking a lair. Which is pretty useful for pirates/faction lairs since they dont heal, and against creatures since more will spawn (if you are a resource hunter)Message Edited by Propagandalf on 02-06-2005 12:40 PM
I dont belive this is possible. The most damage ive ever seen on a pet was just over 600 and ive never even heard of anyone getting 800 max damage on a pet with the current crafting system.Wrong. Even if a pet could get a damage like that it still would not equal anything near the damage a TKM could produce even on a AR0 Kinetic 0% target because CH has no damage multipliers for attacks. And just so you know. The KD attack for pets is broken to, it will not work on command
It's very possible. I've seen pets with well up into the 900-1200 range using /enrage, and consistent 500-700 standard attacks. HAM was a joke as so was armor but it can be done. and I am not suggesting that pets are anywhere close to TKA or any other melee class other than 3000 brawler, only that they are useful for laying down additional damage. I am well aware that pet commands are broken, I've been a member of these forums for as long as I've been a CH. So 1) It really doesnt matter what specials it has, they are all broken or worthless. 2) Even if it doesnt work on command, it does work occasionally which is better than nothing. 3) It will probably not stay broken much longer and 4) It isnt looking like we are getting any major amount of love out of the CU, so working with what we have works to our advantage
