"Right now you can just use the secure trade window. Here's to hoping they stop that soon!"
Excuse me? By saying that you are making the CH skill commercially useless until the person reaches Management 4.

I don't know about him, but I'm sure hoping they change it to be ALL creatures have to have transfer command trained before they can be transferred. That skill in Manage tree should be worth the time and effort it took to get it..
It's a dead horse now...it was beat to death on this board and on the other forum...I'm not going to state my reasons or the reasons why countless other CH's (MCH's and some lower)felt that no pets should be able to be transferred without that command.
No idea but I bought my Graul Mauler for 25K as a baby.
My husband bought his Kliknik Defender for 18K, adult.
This has been said many many times, but a good and very common guideline is 1k per skill level when full grown. I discount if someone's buying a baby, but not all the way down to the babies current level. Also, I'll add a premium if it's particulary rare, required expensive travel (Endor) or sometimes if it has great bonuses.
After all shouldn't a level 23 with armor cost more than one without?
I say get what you can for what you're trying to sell... I usually tame on contract... somebody sends me out I'll set a price then lower it if I find and tame quickly or if I make them wait too long if I can't find it which hasn't happened yet.. I won't waste datapad space for a pet nobody might want or that another CH can unload before me..
Folks will never agree on a general pricing guide, but these are the issues I take into account when setting my prices:
- How expensive is it for me to get to the planet the creature spawns on?
- Is the planet full of aggressive spawns, requiring me to clone there?
- Is the planet full of aggressive creatures which will likely kill me a few times, so I have to spend a lot of time on finding/taming the creature?
- Is the creature common, not so common or just outright rare?
- Is the creature easy or difficult to tame (on average)?
- Does the creature spawn along with aggressive friends which are likely to kill me if I have a critical fail on a tame or if mask scent fails?
- How good or bad are the creature's stats for its difficulty level? (including HAM, damage, resist, special attacks)
- How high or low is the demand for the creature?
I'd have a hard time saying clearly how these points are weighted. Rarity is very important though, Rock beetles for instance are pretty cheap even though they have great stats, simply because they're very easy to find´.
Oh and, I'll also tell you why I don't like the various pricing guidelines out there:
1k credits per difficulty level - it doesn't work out on entertainer pets (according to that guideline, you'd have to pay 8k for a gnort with 125 HAM, totally unusable in combat and very common), it doesn't work out on high end pets (show me someone willing to pay 50k for a wild gurreck when you can get a BEed for the same amount, or even cheaper), it doesn't work out on rare pets and it doesn't even work out on many other cats whose difficulty levels are pretty messed up (a bantha is DL 14 even though it only has 2200 HAM and no special resists - if anyone is willing to pay 14k for that, they're nuts).
3 credits per HAM point - again, not working too well on rare pets, and doesn't take resists and armor rating into account, though it's better than the 1k/DL guideline.
A few new CH questions.
1) Do I have to have the "Transfer" ability in order to sell a pet?
2) If Pets are not solid through the normal market how do find out what a competive price is?
3) how are pets sold? Trade window?
Thanks for your help.
To sell non-CH pets, dragging the datapad date to the trade window will do the trick.
Just hang around your local big city for pet prices. Usually, if you're the only one there you can set your price and people either buy it or offer what they think is fair. I only have experience selling grauls and graul maulers which i sell for 20k and 25k respectively.
1) Yes
2) I don't sell pets, but from what I've heard 1-1.5k + travel/difficulty expenses is usual.
3) Yes ![]()
