NO, I dont think that if you are maxed CHxp that your pet stops getting training xp. I can't be 100% about this since I'm 0-2-0-4 CH, so I'm not going to Max CHxp for a while yet. However, I dont that would be the case cause then MCH's would not be able to train their pets, and I have NOT seen any post about that yet.
OK, from my previous post!!! I did some more pet XP testing when I got home from work today and YES!!! I had caught a CL4 Wamp Rat and had him attack some CL2 Worrts and he was getting almost 1000 training XP per kill. AND, I was getting 300 CHxp per kill on a CL2 mob. SO, I think that's pretty handy since at CL62 I would only be getting 1xp on all mobs 55 and under!!!
SO, take your pets, find mobs close to their range and just SICK'EM!!!

I am a MCH... I picked up a Slinking Vortor lizard... CL 55. I went to Endor and took out some lvl 40 creatures... then some lvl 65 creatures... I was getting the message of 1 pt of CH XP... but then I decided to examine the pet in my datapad... and guess what... I am getting great XP for the pet (even though it is telling me 1pt).
Thus, obviously this is a bug, but just to let you know... I continued testing this and it appears to be true. Now, when I kills mobs in within 5 lvls of my pet... I got the message of CH XP appropriate to the lvl(instead of just 1 pt).
Can anyone else confirm this? Or point to another post with the info. I have read other posts... and have complained about the 1 XP... (not being grouped). I was not grouped with my pet either... but the XP seems to be fine upon examining the pet.

Sounds like SWG will see some more PPO(Pure Pet Ownage) Groups, like i've seen in EQ. Group of all MCH's using their pets to tank and melee, while the masters just stand back at relax. 8 ppl per group, 16 CL23 pets, with new abilities.... that's a army!!!

Some pointers.
- Do not group with your pets, you only slow things down. ...
i made exactly the opposite experience - after release 21 went live.
ch-xp was pityful low when ungrouped and so was the pet-xp.
after grouping the pet both xp types kinda sky rocketed and my fresh-tamed rancor (50) leveled up in about 1-2 hours. (not to mention i was kinda xp grinding with some friends).
nonetheless: grouping benefits both ch and pet xp

Another Great Idea
At least we got new content, and its not so bad. But it will force CH's to do more group grinding. One of the things I really liked about CH was I could wander around with my pets and explore the worlds, and gain XP without a group or with just another CH.
I am lucky to belong to a CH friendly guild. I hope all the CH's out there find good groups too
anyone forcing you to speed things up and grind ?
if you like hunting alone using your pets you stil can do it.
However after returning to and logging back in game a few hrs later the problem seems to be resolved. I'm still ch exp capped and gaining training exp normally.
I went ahead and bugged it ingame as a n/a to repeatable.

It really just depends on your pets lvl, your lvl, the lvl of the highest person in your grp, and the mobs lvl.
Don't know how many people are aware of the con colors, since the option to con the mobs or your radar is defaulted to off. If you know about the colors, then you dont have to read any further.
If you check that little box next to your radar, it will con each mob with a color. The colors help tell you the lvl of the mob compared to you. Pink = Very high, instant death
Red = High, don't try alone
Yellow = Difficult, hard fight you may die
White = Same CL as you, even fight
Blue = not too hard
Green = easy
Grey = Very easy
In order for you to get anything more the 1XP the mob has to be atleast Green or higher. Who ever is the highest person in your group will determine the color of the mobs. There for if you group with a CL80 then mobs that were once Pink to you will now be White or Yellow. Same goes for your pets if they are grouped. Example, I was on Dat hunting CL79 Bols with a group. We had one 80 and the 2nd highest was a 67. As soon as the 80 left our group, while we were in mid battle with that Bol, the con color went from Blue to Pink and it Incaped us all with one hit.
I lvled up 2 CL10 bols around Tat killing things from CL8 Boars - CL12 Womp Rats in just an hour, so I can mount them. And I did not group with them.
