Thread: New Bio-Engineered Creature Types?
Templar,
It is just the wrong question at the wrong time. Noone is paying attention to either class except for nerfs. It would seem a waste of time to ask for new content over a fix. Again, if I were a BE asking for attention from Dev's it would be to standardize the validity check. Just as I have warmed up to the idea of buying my Pets from BE that carpet is swept from under us by this checks. I am as unsure of your BE products now as ever. The CL10 pet is obsolete for the BE if 4K HAM pets are being reduced to 400. Which really puts the CH back in control of that market.
Spazzer,
I guess scouts jedi mind trick creatures into dying so they can harvest them? It is a shame to call something that really only thrives in combat, combat support. My guess is the devs know little as possible about the military. Hell pets are called Tanks, Tanks are in the Armor Corps. A combat corps. Medic and Doctors are Combat Support. There are a few hardcore Combat Medics in Infantry units that can give the best of the Bulletcatchers a run for them money. Using military slang in a militant game is rather unfair when used improperly.
If you use CH to collect meat you are combating. Not combat support (unless you are jedi mind tricking too). Scouts are either aviation or tankers. Both are Combat Support. Our meaningless scout profession is not a scout at all, its a scavenger. Rangers are lame in the fact they are Strider type rangers in a Space Age setting. Real militant Rangers would eat a hole through a wall to get to the other side, then they would blow crap up. I am a combat veteran. I know the difference between combat support and front line combat. Our only means of progression is based on combat that makes us a combat profession. Until that is changed if you play a combat profession and call it support you are merely tweaking it to your advantage.
But none of this tangent fixes the immediate problem any wish list for new pets over fixed pre-existing content is not something I desire and my guess is most of the community. If they would fix your own cloning process I would be happier. Then maybe we could seriously talk about new pets. Then again comes the train of thought that MOST CH's would rather see us be able to tame CL70 and lower before we see the BE pets.
I use a pistol which draws skills from marksman with is a combat class.
I know that's tricky to grasp but lets try another one. I could kick the animal to death which is an unarmed skill. That's also combat. See a pattern. Neither of those allow you to harvest any animal resources. Neither of those allow you to handle an animal either. I love creature handler. My animals rock and I wouldn't give them up for anything. You seem bent on hatingcreature handlerand constantlyputting it down. I'd suggest you stop "fixing" bio-engineer and get your mount bugs addressed.
The bio-engineers asked for birds and insects long ago. We were given insects. Birds sure would be cool though.
Oh I get it now Spazzers. You have the only exploit in the game that allows CH to harvester resources soley by itself. Your not even a scout. That makes sense now. Silly me, I should have known. Oh yeah in that case I would call it combat support. Since you do not have the Scout prerequisite that allows harvesting. You never fight with your CH pets. Wow. I would bet you could sell this secret CHFS for harvesting resources without owning scout abilities on Ebay.
Get for real. LOL. CH does not harvest Scout does.
Its summantics and really doesn't address the creature handler issues. I'd say your rancor is supporting you because your rifle does more damage.A TKM/MCH is going to rock in PvP but that's based on the TKM and not the creature handler skills.
Basically I was giving you a real need for creature handler in the game as a means of providing a service. Sure you can use only a weapon to kill the animals you harvest for market. You can use that weapon and creatures together and kill things a whole lot faster and you can do it solo.
The more vocal creature handlers here seem bent on PvP ownership. If that's the case you're doomed to bitterness. Again, that doesn't help mounts follow or pets being mezmerized by those shiny rocks.
Back to the main question of this thread,a CL70 crystal snake would be one scary critter.
Your utter lack of understanding dooms your arguments... there are NO, zero, zip nada harvesting bonuses to being a CH, gathering resources is NOT our niche. Rangers do it FAR better and have tools that enable them to do it much easier (traps on critters, for example).
My rancor is a COMBAT WEAPON, I use my rancor to KILL enemies. I do not use my rancor to SUPPORT me, my doc friends SUPPORT me, my entertainer friends SUPPORT me, my crafter friends SUPPORT me, they do not FIGHT for me, my pet DOES. Just because a, say, Master Marksman does less damage than a Master Rifleman doesn't mean that the Master Marksman is SUPPORT, the Marksman is COMBAT.
But I do agree, a CL70 crystal snake would be nice, I currently use a trio of regular (not giant) crystal snakes in PVP, most opponents don't see em as they slither up.
