Thread: Looks like the devs did something right in publish 7...
My experience with Ranged Attack (in the last few days) is that it only works for BE pets. In that case you do get a system message saying something to the effect of "Ranged Attack Mode: ON" and the pet will start doing nothing but ranged attacks. It worked great for my BE cu pa on Test Center. Ican't seem to turn it off, though, except by storing the pet. "Use Ranged Attack" still appeared to do nothing for pets that were tamed in the wild (like my blurrg).

I still haven't gotten the ranged attack to work. I only spent much time tested with savage humbabas (my weakest ranged pet) against butterflies outside coronet, so they tended to go down in one hit anyways. The notes also mentioned a system message when a pet swiches from ranged to melee, has anyone gotten this? And does this meen that pressing the button should toggle the attack mode rather than just firing off one ranged attack?

That makes sense. I've only tried it with wild pets, and don't have any ranged BE pets. Sounds like a bug to me.

well that explains it , I was about to post it isn't working for me but I have no Be's pets with special attacks
Are you trying specials or ranged? SPECIALS work just fine on my wild pets, though I've only ever really tried dizzy before. It's just range that's the problem. Which specials are you trying?

Now that Vert has officially posted, can we change the title of this discussion to reflect the truth?
Er no...
I said they did something right:
Specials now working on command: dizzy, stun, blind, intimidate, cripple.
Specials still not working on command: poison, disease.
Specials not working at all: knockdown
And ranged is still buggy.
I didnt say they had fixed everything just some things.
Greetings,
Ok tried special attacks with my BE razor Cats.
Disease was working, what i did was get the initial attack to go in as a special disease, bang from 40 meters the cat diseased the krayt. Switched targets, bam hit it again. Diseased both krayts.
Of course we both died but, the fact is it worked. Dizzy and stun seem to work well too. So I am a happier camper.
Now if they would just fix the look of wookie armor. I can't believe i might have to wear a tomato can for protection.
If they don't I think I will get it made green then i will look like Kermit the frog. That should give me an edge in PVP because people who are killing themselves laughing are usually vunerable to me flaming them.
Went out to play on Dath and can confirm that poison doesn't work at all. My critters still will only poison when they feel like it, and not when I tell them to. Grrrrr.....
Since poison is one of the more popular attacks for critters, when will it actually work? Please? I'll give you a Nuna if it will work like it's supposed to.
