Thread: Gurk babies? level 30 34, 10k ham, light armor, 300 dam
FYI a Whelp is listed in certain dictionaries as "the young offspring of a mammal" , so they are younguns.
You'll find that most mobs that are untamable have other names for their babies such as snorbal calfs and kimo hatchlings.

I have seen a Gurk baby, when this game was about 1-3mos old or so after beta. Way before mounts or anything. I was at the volcano on Lok there is a static Gurk spawn there nowadays its typically not there cause people come by and kill it while looking for kimos. Anyway I taped it and out popped a gurk baby at the time I was night high enough level to tame it I am guess it was a level 30 at least. Since then I have been back and all over lok looking for another gurk baby I guessing they are no more, I wish they would bring them back..If Nym can have run around and server him dinner then I should be able to have one too.
I think the last time i saw a Gurk baby(it was a king) was back around August/September...I didn't have any CH skills at the time(and I don't currently, but I'm working my way back there...deleted my character to start over as a Zabrak because I dig tattoos and Twi'leks can't wear any cool hats 
)...After I mastered CH with the Twi'lek, I went back hunting, but hadn't seen any since...I heard they were toasted around september...but then, with the Great Nerf I heard they brought them back, but haven't heard tell of any yet...Lok is still a fun planet to hunt on..and those Sulfur Mynoks are nice to tame...Someday Lok will be good CH hunting again...someday

I've done hundreds of gurk missions, grinding my profs, never seen a baby, never seen a king either, but i know people who have, this inlcudes the 8k missions and the 14k missions.
Why did this get necro'ed?
Ah well, supposedly we now have the means to find out if Gurks or what have you ever do spawn babies, with the new changes to the "Tamable" information line on /examine. Will have to check it out next time I am on Lok.
