True, I'd have to check, but I think you're right, spraysticks are quite good for grinding up, low speed and can be gorax enhanced

Tamed a Mature Reptilian Flier on the 3rd try with just a pair of +25 pants.

if you just get the "you fail to tame that" message that means it IS possible to tame it, its jsut that the critter is a high level so it takes alot of tries

You'd be suprized at the effect just 1 good pair of taming clothing has on taming high level agressives. You can tame it without them, but it'd actually be better to just throw on a piece or two of modd clothing instead of sitting there for who knows how long...

Pub 20 and before, I did all of my taming without enhancements. It took a long time, but was doable. I managed to tame a Mature Reptilian Flyer (L69) shortly before Pub 21, and was very proud of the lengthy accomplishment. It took portions of three days because of taming problems and the "Can't Tame This" bug, but finally snagged my prize.
Post-Pub21, I went out and spent the time to find some taming pants. They made such a difference I won't tame 30+ CLs any more without them. Highly recommended.
Taming without taming clothes is like trying to fight without armor ( for non-TKs ). Sure, you can do it, but why give yourself the extra difficulty?
