I don't see how a pet would be capable of healing. I can see the pouch idea, sure. But unless its a pet that has hands, how is it going to heal? Spit bacta on you?
Besides, there is a droid module that allows droids to do this already, so I'd rather not take the functionality of droids taken away.

The pouches would have a mechanism to spray the bacta. Good point about the droids though. I forgot about them.
