My character is lvl 80 Master Rifle / Master Creature Handler.

My pets tank while my Alt kills... Finding pets was easy just get a destroy mission for the one you want. Babies usually spawn in the middle or at the end of killing the nest. Most of my good petswere bio engineered anyway.

After the CU, Pets seem to be messed up anyway. My best pet is my lvl 42 Bio spider. Seems to be better then the new lvl 50 Rancor I found. My old pet Rancor is lvl 74 now and unuseable...

PS my pets do not Tank well under CU. The first shoot from my Rifle and the Mobs abondon my pets and charge me (even when I hunt with a group of 8 others)...

Actually, my character is BOTH Master CH and Master Ranger, with a little Medic thrown in, so it is far from being unplayable. It is not for the faint hearted through, you will sacrifice virtually all combat skills and ability and will have to plan your attacks a little more. But, its a hugely characterful template for anyone who prefers their hunts to be a little more challenging.

Probably one more for the RP'ers though than the die hard hunters. Although that said, I have managed every themepark, most of the village unlocks and plenty of everyday hunting on Dath and Endor with this exact template, so its clearly far from inneffective.

Naturally, CH/Rifleman is obviously a lot more efficient, I wont deny that. But I am happy as I am thank you very much

I was MCH/MRanger for a long time. MR definitely was handy for tracking and taming rares---although it isn't as effective as it should be due to the way in which spawns get generated.

My "combat" skill was 0/4/0/4 Marksman and typically hunted unbuffed/unarmored. I used to mostly solo, and pretty well, it just takes a lot longer and is much harder work. Animals are a bit easier because you can use traps as well.

Things start to fall apart with a template like that when you're in dungeons, mostly due to pet warping, pathing problems, and the ability for mobs to shoot through floors/walls. It kind of sucks when something aggros and your pet is suddenly 96m away, only to have it warp back after you're incapped/db'd. Plus you do need to be able to hold your own in combat when /tellpet randomly decides to stop working. Those problems may have been fixed post-CU, though.

Unfortunately, I gave up both CH and MR due to the things that broke after CU and to accelerate my Village grind (not to mention the unbalanced SP cost for Ranger). Most of quests were do-able, but the time it takes to level relying mostly CH is far greater. Pets in general seemed more effective and less flakely post-CU, but the lack of specials and new levels that prevent me from pulling more than one pet killed things for me.

I used to be MCH + Ranger 3040 + Pistoleer 0440 - or was it 0340? Anyway, I've always maintained that no two professions complement each other as CH and Ranger do. Even post CU -except for combat. Which is why Ifelt I had to give up my Ranger skillsfor Master Pistoleer so that I could beeffective in combat

I really, really, really miss being Ranger. But I find thatI do get by without the tracking skills. But I really, really, really miss being Ranger.

Me too, me too. I decided to keep Master CH. All those pets that have been with me for so long...just couldn't let them go. For the first time since Aug after launch, I am not a Ranger /cry self
