But then again jet the more times you log on and look, then more times this "dumb luck" can play in your favor.
As for the field guide, it has a lot of fluff in it but it also has some usefell info for the newer CH's looking for a GPS.
True. And the more times you can get disgusted and put your fist through your monitor.

The GPS search doesn't anger me the day of a search, but rather the day after when I log on to my character and hes the exact same as the day before, 8 hours wasted and another 4 or 8 GPS down but nothing to show.
The only thing keepin me going now is the thought that someday i'll get a GPS and all this time wont have been wasted

I got a similar tell from someone I was once guilded with who sent me a tell to tell me had just killed a bull rancor baby. I had already had one at this point for about a month and could not understand why someone who had hunted with me before would do something so foolish. Turned out he was pissed because didnt have any bio clothes and killed it.
They are out there and it just takes time and patience to find them.
Good luck on all your future hunting.

I know it can be frustrating. I spent4 months before I found my first oneand once I did it completed my collection. Thesespawns are the most frustrating because have no lairs andare very aggressivemaking them avery challenging hunt.
Trust meonce you find one itwill vendicate all the searching you have done and you will have one of the coolest pets in the game.
All it takes is time and patience

Hi, thanks for the guide, many hours spent looking so far but with no luck. I'm determined to find one though. I have a question though- are you able to drive around on a speeder, and still find them, or do you have to hoof it to trigger them to show up? Also, do you successful finders out there have rangers skills too, or are you just really lucky?

Just going to put this in perspective... as it was a bit offensive...
Rangers aspire to be rangers because we like the 'feel' of it. It's probably one the most underpowered classes there is in the game. So on that note, I'll say this:
1. We can build unbelievably awesome camps... that no one uses anymore since the devs decided to let GOD buffs and GOD armor run rampant on the servers. Now it's solo hunting for everyone, and no one groups. Why bother playing multiplayer at all at this point?
2. We can throw crazy traps... that really do nothing.
3. We can /conceal people if we build kits... that is supposed to be superior to maskscent but is found to be basically the same thing. So it's fairly worthless.
4. We can track. The one useful tree in our profession... that does something fun... cool, flavorful, and very geared towards a hunter who tracks. And you say you'd rather not use track because you want to use your skills as a hunter? Well sorry to say, just because you want to powergame and use the points in combat instead, has nothing to do with 'skills as a hunter' as tracking IS a skill of a hunter. So please don't go around telling rangers to try and go a day without using a very useful and flavorful skill... pretty much the only one we have, while at the same time making yourself sound superior because you don't use it. You don't use it because you don't want to be a true hunter like the ranger, and would rather spend it on combat. That's all fine and dandy, but don't try to come off noble and that you are better for it. Those of us who sacrifice those points in becoming a master ranger do so because it's what we love. How dare you slap us in the face and try to tell us not to use our skills? I very much liked your original post, and the fluff that went with it... I will probably use your waypoints... but I am very disappointed with this last post, and have begun to wonder if maybe this was an ego post to begni with.

I have found them even while riding on my av-21. If you begin to notice that spawns just completely dry up slow down and sit for a minute and let then catch up with you. I always makes sure my search window is 256 meters in diameter so can get a broad area.
A question I also get asked a lot is do I use ranger and I have never used it. If a Great Plains stalker is in the area you are going to see it and my methods of hunting is just drive until I find one. I also like the additional challenge of not having that special ability and using my skills as a hunter to find the creatures. I am not saying ranger is not valuable and many of the most respected ch use it but I enjoy having the extra skill points to use on other skills such as swordsman. My current template is master swordsman, riffleman, and master ch.
If you are a ranger try going a day without using it.

I meant no offense and do respect the ranger profession.
I chose not to use it.
