Thread: Publish 7: And the hits just keep on coming.
I just started CH and I fail to see why these things are so bad. 30 second timer might be annoying but it will affect everyone, not just us. Otherwise, I don't see much problem with the other nerfs. I mean, as a long time Master Carbinier, a short time Master Ranger and a holo Master BE, I've seen much worse.
Honestly, I'm not trolling; I would just liketo be enlightened. I'm completely ignorant. If explanations have already been given, please feel free to just point me to the corresponding thread(s).
yeah there are some issues with CH just as any other professions but NONE of them are game breaking and CH is still the best combat multiplier there is in the game with the exception of PVP.
I have never understood the whole put up a camp, pull out the animals and then destroy a tent concept. If what is stated is accurate, and I believe it is, or at least as far as we know at this time it is, it still doesn't make sense at all to wait 30 secs if fighting is has taken place, 60 secs if it has. The entire history of humanity and their use of animals never has had to wait to use animals after a fight or even during a fight if the animal is already there. Can you imagine the calvary of any army not being able to mount their animals or to bring there animalsinto combat during a fight, whether mounts or used as weapons such as dogs, big cats, elephants, horses, birds and so forth have been used in fights. Now there is a caveat that would have to be taken into consideration. Not just any animal can be used in combat. Any animal certainly will attack if it's life depends on it, but to be used effectively so you can control them, they have to be "trained" to fight, to remain calm, to respond against their natural instinct to fight or take flight to truly be useable. So the devs should allow us to bring these specifically trained animals out during a fight, and to be usable for our retreat, or our advancement in battle, or as part of an attack situation. Both in my time in the military and working with the police department I have seen these animals in action, and they can real blessing and a truly ominous presences and great boon to their masters and their side in a fight or other similar situations.
I also believe if we have mastered scout or are even further in that direction as a ranger that certain animals should be trainable in "tracking" prey whether human, mechanical or other animals. Animals are used in these situations all the time. Again you should not be able to do this with just any animals. Now all this is true even in the Star Wars universe. Animals have been used to ride in battle, used to carry heavy equipment in battle, and used as tanks with guns or other automated and human directed weapons being used (bullets, arrows, blasters, rockets, shields, so forth). So all that I have does fit into reality and the Star Wars universe. Tracking devices as well as the animals own capabilities for tracking would be reasonable as well. Oh, unless I forget it, in the Star Wars books, especially since Dathomir is in the game, the "Witches" and others flew on the back of various large reptilian creatures as an asset in battle as well as for travel or tracking. Since we are going to get flying vehicles for both planetary and space travel why can we not have animals that do that.
I guess it boils down to I don't understand the whole not being able to take out your creatures in battle or just in traveling the planet.
I am just wanting to see Creature Handlers and any and all who want to use animals to be able to use them and not have to constantly find a way around being trapped without bringing your animal(s) into play. Again this could be somewhat limited to animals that can and are specifically trained for these things.

hmmm i have been a CH for a long time now and i cant find ANY reason to leave it. im not sure what game these whiners are playing but it evidently isnt the same one i am. they whined about camps being required so the devs removed that requirement and implemented it in such a way as to prevent exploiting certain game mechanics. you people cant have it both ways.
***please explain what game mechanics you can exploit as a ch?

Fact ;
You can not call a pet if you are agroed.
You can not store a pet till 60 secs after combat is over
You can not store a pet during combat.
ONLY 15% of the players PVP.
Myth
the 30 sec timer prevents griefing???
The 30 sec timer prevents exploits.
I would love to see this mythical griefing people are talking about. CH has been nerfed and balanced and nerfed again. The above facts ahve been put in place to prevent such action, so again WHY do we need to wait 30 secs?

Yes, enquiring minds want to know. What game mechanics are exploited by calling pets?
