i would like a storage droid.... I have not been fond of the stable idea... Really would make us pokemon IMO.
I also think the quick fixes are the best things for us as a group.
excuse me? How woulda stable be a pokemon handler??? the droid would be closer to it than the stable, cause the pokemon are held in the poke-balls, and the droid would be nothing more than a poke'ball that held 10 poke'mon.

I understand your concerns of CH being respectable and not having the circus thing for a home but that is also a choice you would always have to buy one or not its an easy fix since they are doing it with cabinets soon thats why I suggested it, either way more room in the data pad would be limiting they would just raise us up a few pets and lets face it, hiuman nature says itis never enough lol we all would want more, allowing pet drops in houses (ranch or no ranch) would allow you to store up to 150 in a med house, ok who wants to save that many lol probably not many but you would have trhe option, then depending on what you are planning u can switch em out. The devs dont want us having to many in datapad dont ask me why justt my opinion.
People sell pets although I do not, it would be a good thing for them to show them off in a ranch envirement.
Oh last thought my pets are not weapons they are my companions :-)

More than that, they are my friends, and I know that they will never leave me when I am in need.

cool, i love my pets too btw. I just think time and effort are better spent elsewhere. I think digi or tivotenook have an idea above about pet based npc quests, great idea. There are a ton of good ideas in this forum, but I jus tdont think all of them are focused on what we need right now. Focus could help us big time. I just never got around to voicing my opinion about the corral thing and it happened to be in your threadthat I got around to it. nothing against you, but we are not viable (money making wise) in the game for a number of reasons, and those should be addressed before the "stable" idea inmy opinion.
the stable is just not somehting anyone else in the game would care about besides the creature handlers, I dont think. That is all. It could be done easily enough by just adding a little room in the datapad.
btw, I am not a fly by night profesion grinder, I have been a ch since inception, and I am a grand animal lover, stables are just, well not a good idea in my opinion. You see how little the devs give folks on this board, cause most of it is just not worth the hastle to implement.
I am just ranting a bit here since you all brought it up, we need to remain focused on the imminent things we need done, make us a little stronger, give us a little more room inthe datapad, make pets have damage bonuses in pvp, and damage reduction against them. Then we might actually have a desire to pvp.
I mean make a rancor stronger than a TKA, please..

I actually like a somewhat modified notion of the droid storage. I would like to see a droid which can store babies in stasis. They don't grow, they can't be directly called from the droid. This gives a MCH storage for their rare display babies or for non-CH mounts even when their datapad is full up. This could/should maybe be accompanied by a change which would all mounts to be taught the mount command at any age but not ridden until they were grown. This way you could train the babies and transfer them instead of holding them indefinitely in your own datapad until they are grown enough or marketable enough to hand-off as a mount.
The stable idea is a good one. Along the way it has popped into my head that maybe we should expand it a little further into a farmer profession. The farm should provide either only domesticated organics (limited the schematics it can be used in) or only average quality of various organics (useful in any schematic but not high quality like wild products). This doesn't step on the Rangers' toes too much but it also provides crafters with a reliable source of not bottom-of-the-barrel organics.
The circus is an idea above and beyond the stable which I've thought about for a long time. Maybe as a hybrid profession with Entertainer as a pre-requisite. This would provide non-combat CH players with something fun and interesting to do with their pets. Collecting the rares from throughout the universe and teaching them to entertain with you would be great fun. The pets/circus may or may not provide bonuses to certain healing factors or buffs but it's the fun factor that matters most. This profession should provide a wider variety of pet tricks and non-combat pet commands with maybe some added ability to tame and train exotic creatures in non-combat ways.
In any case, having expanded storage for pets is a good thing. I like the balancing aspect of remote storage, having a location you actually have to visit to swap out your pets. It keeps people from always having everything on-hand and adds to the strategic aspects of the profession. This would be most useful coupled with a revisitation of the damage types in-game in order to make it so that players would a) see value in having differently resisted pets and b) players would not be able to simply cram their datapad with all the "best" pets all the time.

I believe this profession was actually in the games original design (after all, that Luke Skywalker person was one) -it got dropped though, quite early in the games development.

The "Farmer" profession was actually remodeled into what we now know as Bio-Engineer. It wasn't dropped, it just isn't a farmer anymore.
