I'dmake a gurreck. I think it's the fastest of the BE pets. Mine seems to be faster than my razor cats or any BE pet I've had.

Hey all,

I am a MCH, and have a MBE alt char. I used him to make some uber CL10 pets for my Jedi, and finally finished my recipe for my 3 CL22 pets for my MCH to tank with. (Big probs to the brilliant BEs on the BE forums for sharing their recipies and giving me such great guidance)

My three pets all have around 10k/7k/3k HAM, AR1, 60% Kenetic, and intimidate. I got their CL so low by geneticly engineering them to have vulnerabilities to everything but Kenetic, and they only do a small amount of damage. But this means I have 30k Heath between them with AR1 and 60%KR!! So they should do a great job.

NOW....

I need to choose what skins to put these stats in. I know the Gurreks are the fastest, but do I really need speed if I'm headed after one major target? I can't use Rancors or Kimos, as thier minimum CLs are 35/40. But then again I don't want giant pets anyways.

I'm also looking for some fun in their appearance. My MCH is named Frosty, and he's a HUGE, all white Wookiee who wears an all white robe, with a blue and white hood. I would love to come to a hunt, and when I pull out my 3 uber tanks, they are all white bunnies. I think that would be unique, and fun for those in my group.

But I'm worried that Durni skins will be slow, or maybe run away alot etc. I was wondering if any of you BE pet users, who have tanks with unusual skins, can comment on how good they are in combat. Do they run alot? Do they get in the way? Do you only want Gurreks so you they can follow a speeder? etc.

Let me know what you use, and what you think a giant white wookiee named Frosty should have following him around. hehe. Maybe suggest some cool names for this trio too!

I look forward to your feedback.

Frosty

PS: I know there is alot of debate over the stats on BE pets these days, but I have no interest in your opinion on these matters right now. If you want to argue it, please take your opinions to the BE boards, where there are plenty of threads you can contribute to. Thanks!

Well, I have a level 24 vir vir that has roughly 10K health/9K action/8K mindand has strong poison (I wish he had light armour though...) He was a special order for a friend of mine until he dropped CH, and he passed him onto me. He is a great tank in battle, always listens to me and loves to sniff the grass around him. BUT he's slow as molasses.... The usual stint is run run run run...stop and wait for the bunny...run some more... stop and wait for the bunny. I swear I need to get a wagon and pull him behind me when I'm out and about. But I love him regardless... I'd give up my 2 level 35 rancors before I gave up my little bunny. Only thing that he gets annoyed about is someone calling him a Durni, but he fixes that by spitting a little bit of poison at them.

Vir Vir!!! That's right... please apologize for me.

This is exactly the feed back I wanted. I'm not sure ifI am willing to wait for pets, just because it would be cool to pull out 3 Vir Virs that tank Krayts. I'll have to think about it...

Any other experiences?

What the? BE's can make CL 23 pets with AR1 AND 60% KR? Wow...just...wow. That is not right. The lowest CL we get LA at is CL34, and the thing has KV! Bah...

-Sorry to rant in your thread, I just don't think that is right at all...

And personally I would use a cat skin so you won't have to store your pet all the time, it's a real PITA.

I think that's a good point. Dang it... you guys are gonna force me to make them gurreks aren't you!!! I wanted something funny and maybe furry and cute. Ah well. Anyone else used an odd skin?

BTW MeatPuppet (GREAT name btw) I appreciate you keeping your rant to a min. I highly suggest you head over to the BE forums and read what is going on. In my creatures defense, keep in mind that the CL34 pets you see in the wild, do way more damage, and have resists to a ton of things... not just Kenetic. As an example, I think my pets will only have 120-130 damage. These are VERY engineered pets, built for a specific purpose.

Have a great day, and keep the suggestions coming!

Hi there,

It's me again. Personally I've always preferred cats due to their speed. BUT if I had a choice of any skin for a pet I'd go for a mountain squill just for the entertainment. I have one named Phreak, he also was a gift so I can't bear to give him away. But first time my friend pulled him out to fight Idied because I was laughing so hard at this thing walking in front of me that would once in a while scratch his ass. If I could get 3 BE mountain squills and make them wear the sunhats for fun, I'd be there in a second, and name them Rutu, Tutu, and Chichu. I guess other ones along those lines are the shapauts, I call those guys the leisure group because of the way they lie down when you pet them.

Another good one would be the bark mite collector guys... amazed me that they had almost 10k ham stuffed into such a tiny little body. I thought mine would grow bigger but he didn't. But as you can tell I enjoy being a MCH. All my pets that I tame start offwith the nameBob until I figure out a good name for them, don't ask me why..i'm just weird that way.

Gurrecks, Gurrcats, Narglatches, and Razor Cats run at the EXACT SAME SPEED! I have had tons of each, pull out pairs, and they all keep up at the exact same pace. The Gurreck is not faster that the rest of these cats.

Now, for fun, you might want to do Kusaks. I think they are pretty darn cute, and a trio of them would look funny. They are fast, but they wont be able to keep up with you on a Speeder.

As far as poison on them, it might be something to consider. When Im fighting them 80-90% energy/acid mobs, a 110pt tick per pet would be nice.

Well, heck, if you want to have fun, I'd make 3 white Gualamas. And they're a compromise between cats and bunnies. And they come in all white!

Call a gurreck and ride yer bike 1000m. Store kitty. Then call a razor and do the same thing. If you call themtogether thier speed will be the same. Seperately the gurreck will stay with you longer. I know it sounds nuts but I found this out while on Dant doing Janta missions for a month or so. The gurreck is faster when called alone.

One of my favorites are Veermok's or Woolimander's. Not as fast as cats, but they look neat. I have 3, Moe, Larry and Curly. You should see what they'r like doing trick1 and trick2 together

Another one to think about, would be Bordok's (Mad Cow), Verne's, Tybis, Krahbu, or Eopie. There aren't many creatures made with those skins, since they don't look all that threatening. But could be funny

I've been thinking about making a Snorbal, and naming it "Bar Bar" for laughs.

Another thought, Make a mountable pet, that way, you can always ride him into battle.

Hey all... Thanks again for all the feedback.

As for the speed discussion... I found my answers here. The speed is based on the skeleton that the skin uses. So as you can read in that thread, the "Panther" skeleton is the fastest, and it includes 3 BE skins. Gurrcat, Narglatch and Gurreck.

As I discussed before, if I was going to be forced to use a cat, I at least wanted 3 white ones to match my wookiee. So I made one of each (early gen) and dropped them in my Monster Studio to compare them. After making one all white, I immediately fell in love with the Narglatch. I loved the size (small enough never to get in the way) of course the max speed, and finally the spikes! I just love the way it looks. And the white actually ends up looking white when you're outside.

Here's the first of my 3 uber 21s. : SnowCat

Now that I've made the first one, this brings up another issue. With the CL only being 21, that means I have 49 CL points left for the other 2. So if I made 3 21s, I'd be wasting 7 CL points. So...

I can do 1 or 2 things here. I could either make another CL21, and then add some stats to the third. This way, one of my cats would have better stats, and be able to hold off the Krayt while I pull the other two back, one at a time, to Trick2, heal, and send back in.

Looking at the stats of my CL21, what would you improve on? I could care less about how much damage they do, because I do so much myself (Master Rifleman). Maybe bring the Mind/Action up? Do I want to add ranged attack to any of them for any reason? Give me your thoughts.

Frosty

On a side note: To make this creature, I had to follow a 3 stage recipe I found in the forums. (Can't remember the guy's name, but I'll post it when I find it. Great recipe!!) By 3 stage, I mean that I had to create a creature, harvest the DNA from it, and use it in a 2nd Generation creature, only to harvest DNA from it, and create the 3rd Generation creature you see in my link. The 2nd Generation happens to produce an UBER CL10 pet. While I haven't made it with "bugged DNA" so it's not "illegal", we have been assured that they will be Nerfed "someday". Till then... This is my Jedi's new ride.

Tiskran... that's the guy who came up with the VERY creative recipe that makes not only the highly controvercial CL10 pets, but also the ingenious CL21 pets. What he did, was find several creatures that had an abnormal amount of Vunerabilities. He uses them in the 1st gen clone to stack these vulnerabilities, while maintaining the Kenetic resistance. But brilliant.

Thanks Tiskran,

Frosty
