Thread: GIVE ALL MCH ABILITY TO TAME WILD AGGRO CL70 PETS!!!!!!!!
The fact that you think armor sucks shows just how green you gents are! Armor is AMAZING. If it sucks, why are you complaining that your grual maulers are no good any more? Reducing damage by more than 80% is pretty **edit** usefull. And the stat mods can easily be offset with buffs from food or doctors.
Do you whine for everything youve ever wanted in life? Ever considered going out and earning something for a change? Go get some skill mods for crying out loud, its not that hard.
Bottom line: It takes skill to be good at games, or at least it should. Why not figure out how to get what you want instead of whining for other people to give it to you?
"Ya know...armor is fricking useless in this game. Your HAM costs go through the roof, not to mention that armor doesn't actually help that much. If I had know how poorly the armor system was designed when I started Soha, I would of chose a wookie in a heartbeat."

Well, I never said armor sucked, only that it's not that big'a'deal for an MCH--and it's definitely not AMAZING. I usedrugs without armor, when out sampling DNA...oh and I have my pets set to guard in order to draw Aggro away from me--works pretty well...don't need armor.

what part of "stop telling people to buy BE skill-mod clothing" didn't you understand? Is that so hard?--and who's whining, you pompous phart? We did EARN something...you know that title we sometimes wear over our lil heads?--the one that says: Master Creature Handler...sheeesh...get off your high horse, twit.
Bottom line: It takes skill to be good at games, or at least it should. Why not figure out how to get what you want instead of whining for other people to give it to you?
It takes skill?...wow--now there's a revelation. Goodnews though, we figured out how to get what we want, and it doesn't involve any whining whatsoever...all we have to do is get the Devs attention so that they can fix this mistake. They don't even have to "give" us anything--just fix the mistake.
Galacium, I don't know you and you don't know me...all I know is your post rubbed me the wrong way.

Why don't you just make a wookie char and become a CH. You can get the taming bonus in clothing too. Just go camp the milk spawns or wait for the next patch and get the tissues then. The options are available to you. Not all species in the game should be the same. That would be boring. The differences, whatever they may be, are good. Everyone has the option to choose what they play. It isn't forced on you, so there is no need to complain.
what the?...ok, I realize some of you may be on your lunch break, but SLOW down and read the arguments--then read you replies...it's mind boggling.
Meplorium, as a Master Architect I believe your race (Mon Cal) gets a +bonus in structural assembly, correct? Does that mean you can build structures that other MASTER Architects can't?--and do they have to wear skill-mod crafting goggles, or some such nonsense, in order to build that same structure? I had to give up Master Scout in order to Master BE, which meant losing my +100 maskscent. At +70 I wasn't able to sample anything good, so I made some camo/maskscent tissues and had an outfit made that brought me closer to +100 again--that improves my "success rate" when trying to remain undetected by creatures. The +taming mod is supposed to be the same way--it should improve your "success rate" when taming wild/aggressive creatures--but NOT give you access to exclusive creatures. The CH changes supposedly made it so that you can only TAME what ever your CL cap is. At Master, our cap is CL70. The "+50 vicious/+90 wild", only means that you won't succeed as often with vicious creatures as you will with the regular wild ones. The Wookiee bonus has been implemented incorrectly--or is a bug that needs fixing...PLEASE tell me you guys understand now....please.
What MCH needs armor? Pets do crap for damage, all they are good for is tanking. So any tank class (TKA, etc) shouldn't take up MCH unless they are quite foolish. Wasting all that time and SP for a pet that does 400-500 dmg and doesnt even tank for you is just idiotic. You could take another tank line or marksman or medic and be much more effective.
A. The post was saying its no big deal for Wookies to not use armor, I'm saying armor is a big deal. Perhaps not for a MCH but for everyone else it is. I don't ware armor outside of PVP either, not much point but when fighting oppoenents that arn't stupid its pretty darn nessesary if you want to take any shots and survive. The poster was saying that the wookie bonus should not be significant because their penalties were not significant.
B. Pets can do damage. I can call 3 pets that each deal 560+ damage for a total of 1710. That is not insignificant I assure you. Perhaps these pets will go "poof" some day soon but for the moment they work quite nicely at dealing damage. They also tank decently, although they do not have armor.

1. Its not clear to me this is a bug that is to be fixed. Are only high level pets effected by it? I've heard that non CH cannot tame agro creatures of lv <10 either due to this factor. I was under the impression it was working as intended and that the poster just wants things to be easier for him.
2. It was a pompus post, no doubt. Its early, I'm fired up to debate something. Basicaly trolling realy. There is just so much whining among CHs. They complain about rare pets being hard to find, about their creatures being "fixed", about mobs agroing on them occasionaly, about specials not working 100% of the time, about having to make camps despite how easy they are to make, about all kinds of things that are easy to work around if you pay attention and learn how to play the game well. I watch other professions and we are among the worst for complaining about our class despite it being one of the better classes in many respects. I thinnk most of them are just lazy. Seems like they just want some big tanky thing they can send out while they have to do 0 thinking and use 0 tactics.
What it comes down to is the same tired argument people make... that someone has something they don't and it isn't fair, boo-freaking-hoo!!
You people wont' stop until this game is so hacked to pieces that it's not Star Wars Galaxies, but My Way Or Else. Each race has bonuses which were meant to enhance their abilities in a particular profession. Black people are good at sports. Do I gripe because there are too many black men in sports? No, because it's a simple fact that some races are better at things than other races. The same carries over into the game. Wookiees are naturally inclined toward creature handling. The Bull Rancor I can take without clothing is the same Bull Rancor you can tame with clothings, so what gives? The fact that you'd rather sit here and gripe on the forums instead of using the provided solution in-game. I have no sympathy for you whiners and the devs shouldn't either.
Another thread hijacked by disgruntled wookies who oddly enough only complains when armor is working, not when its not.......
The issue is not about your inability to wear armor (suprise eh, SWG has other issues, I know its hard to belive) but if the bonus wookies have is correctly implemented.
Currently the bonus gives access to something any other race, naked with only skills, can't do. The example provided is Mon Cal crafters with bonuses but not able to construct items no other race can make.
Is this how the dev's wanted it to work or is it just another bug in an endless row of bugs? That is what we are trying to get attention to. If the dev's really meant it to work this way, great we non-wookies can use clothes and other items to make up for it, but if its not it should be tuned.
There is a sharp line between race issues andprofession issues here, The SWG race system with all its virtues and flaws should be disscussed somewhere outsidePROFESSION boards where the issue at hand should be the profession itself.

...what?...
There is NO wild pet level 70.
yes i am aware of this, i meant up to and icluding cl70 pets if there ever will be a cl 70 pet, i know there is no cl70 qild
my statement was an all encompassing one meant to include all cl a mch can tame and or call
furthermore id be happy if wooks could get more of a percentage towards taming higher levels of pets in a much much shorter time and that they would be alot less likely to get aggroed when taming pets, id go for that, while keeping all mch equal in the ability to tame up to cl70 wild pets at the same time making it500 percent easier for a wookie to do it. now that sounds like a comprmise to me
