Was it a /summon or a /beckon? I've never used /summon to know if it works at all but I know the /beckon does.
It makes sense to have other people pet our pets but if they can give a /follow or equivalent command then they can break our pets out of combat which is *not* a good thing. It's annoying to have to store and re-call them but it'd be devastating to have them take off after somebody else in combat.

Earlier i petted someone elses bantha in the cantina. it laid down. i thought that was kinda odd. didnt know other ppl were experiencing this too.

I just tested this.
Using a BE Cu Pa pet, /dueled somebody, sent in pet, somebody else attempted to /beckon
15 attempts to /beckon and the pet continued attacking as normal with no pause. No apparant effect, so hopefully this doesn't work in combat

When I tried it on my pet he flinched back then came forward to starting position. the spatial text said I tapped him on the shoulder.

Yep my pets like being petted by anyone.
BTW after they sit down they act like you gave the stay command. you will need to tell them to heal (follow) or they stay there.-Indene-

I did get the /summon command to work once I found out about the distance limititation. We did not test it in combat and hopefully that test above will hold true in all cases.
