Thread: After buffs and armor are nerfed... where will CH stand?

Well, there could be some major up and coming problems for us.

Rancors are one of the creatures that were labeled as: Are soloed but shouldn't be. According to the devs. And if their intention is to lower power on buffs and armor across the boad, eliminate specials spamming, effectively making everyone weaker, but more interdependant, where does that leave CH's that have pets that are considered, "Soloable, but shouldn't be."

Do you honestly think the devs are going to allow us to have these creatures on demand, now that it will take more than one person to take down a high level creature, muchless the same creature, being controlled by a player.

See what I am getting at? I hate to be dark and forboding. But I see even darker days for Creature Handlers ahead...

I hope I am wrong...

Couple questions what is a FoTM and a CoB.

Combat revamp? haha good one. The question should be: How long can a creature handler wait for that before just dropping MCH? 1 year maybe, or even longer?

Less. I am sad to say that yesterday I dropped MCH after 5 months. I have tried my best to make the most out if it at every possible opportunity, but alas, it was not to be. Personally I am sad because I bought this game to be a CH and have always had fun looking all over the galaxy trying to find the rares. I never got a Bull Baby, but I almost got everything else.

It took me a while to finally come to grips with the fact that if I want to do the Corvette, the DWB, the Squill caves (which were already nerfed AGAIN) CH would have to go infavor of a Melee tanking class.

I hope someday soon the Devs find a way to make us respected again, and if they do I will be back. Until then good luck everyone.

CoB = Center of Being.

It is a skill that melee professions get which allows them a period of highly increased dodges, blocks, or counters depending upon the weapon of choice. This along with damage mitigation, bumps to melee tougheness and raising the innate damage avoidance skills were added to allow the melee profession to actually survive melee.

Back when the game first launched, and CHs were going out "soloing" things that they should not, there was much discussion about how this made CHs "overpowered" and "unbalancing".

Of course, now that a moncal with buffs and composite, and only carbines IV, can solo fambaas, and just about anything that cons red to him, it's just not an issue.

When buffs and armor are nerfed, we'll be back where we before, and CHs will seem "overpowered" again, and the crybabies will demand anerf of CH.

The devs are frankly not intelligent enough to find a way out of this cycle. They clearly don't have the leadership to help them find a way.

I tend not to hold my hopes so high about this rebalance. Thet last game rebalance they did a few weeks after launched caused scores fo players to leave, i was one of them. At the time I was a Master Ranger (yes it only took me a few weeks to master it) and pistoleer and I was heading to Dantooine to solo, I knwo now a days that is common place, but so soon after launch, I was one of few. The rebalance destroyed that and I have a feeling this rebalance, if it happens, will h ave teh same effect. People will leave in scores pissed off that they cant solo Enraged Rancors by the handfuls and leave, meanwhile, classes like CH, with once again become teh flavor of the month like TK is now. Everyone who doesnt leave becuase they lost there feeling of uber-ness will try and find the easiest and quickest way out... pets. Its cool if most of you my not agree, but Ive seen it once and history tends to repeat itself.

Strange, i have been a MCH since the first month of release, it was the first profession i mastered. Not onve have i dropped the master title. I can't begin to tell you how many times my butt has been saved because of my pets. I will always be a MCH. I think people don't appreciate the pets until they r running in circles for their life with 100 ham left, and a group member has his/her pets attack the baddie to get its attention.

As for the nerfing ch's again, my pets will still be formidable allies to me no matter what they do.

As for nerfing buffs and armor, bah to the devs. Everytime we find a way to enjoy this game w/o dying and cloning every 20 minutes, they nuke us.

The great CH nerf had nothing to do with the combat balance as a whole. Let's stop believing in that lie. It was a nerf to bring down CH population and to put an end to the whining. Look at the facts.

What were the two main stats modified on all tameable creatures? Kinetic and Armor. Which, incidently, are the main attributes a CH pet needs. Kinetic for BE pets is even hard capped at 60% A direct blow to CH's. While other stats can be %80+.

Spawning rate on high CL tameables were droped considerably. The experience gains were brought down.

All the while, BE's were given the ability to create NON-CH pets (a big part of the contraversy) with light armor, high ham, and high percentage in resists, under CL 10.

The supposed reasons for the CH nerf were for the first round of combat balance and to eliminate over powered dabblers.

So tell me. What did the CH nerf accomplish?

the ch nerf didnt scare me off!!! all it did was steal armor from some of my pets!!! but they r still my companions always

To be honest with you, since i have been a mch for over a year, it is hard for me to imagine playing this game without it

Jesus. THey need to increase resists again on pets and raise the cl level.

CH was nerfed because of 2 things

1. Bug in game that allowed BEs to make incredible pets at low low levels.

2. Skill Tree was no in the right order, which allowed people to dabble one line of it to get 2 pets out...2 of those bugged BE pets.

Well bugged pets are kinda fixed.
Skill tree was fixed.
Yet Uncle Nerfington still doesn't let us out to play

For one thing, there are no more "poke-wars". Of course, there are darn few "wars'' at all any more, as grouping is simply not required for most PvE.

A couple of weeks ago I was with two TKMs and a novice TK (I'm a novice TK and master commando) and we went through enraged rancor mission lairs as if we were taking down gubber lairs on Corellia.

I could have called out a GSP to assist, but frankly, the pets are totally unnecessary now to take on high end PvE. With my two TKM guildmates, who needs even a gurreck to take on high end PvE? No one.
